Cutting out cow milk made a huge difference for me! And honestly oat milk and almond milk are so yummy it was easy to transition 💗

100% true! I went to a dermatologist for years, had all the treatments done. When I went from vegetarian to vegan whole plant based no sugar it was like boom, clear skin! Not just clear skin but skin that people ALWAYS ask me about. It was beyond bizarre to go from criticized for my "bad" skin to being complimented for my "good" skin.

There are still so many dermatologists that insist "diet has nothing to do with acne". I know stress and hormones play a major role, but diet definitely effects acne...mcuh you like mentioned ...dairy definitely effects hormones and acne

I’ve been vegan for years and my acne didn’t change when I made the switch. However, I notice that when I eat more whole plant based foods and less vegan processed snacks that I feel and look better.

In the late 60s, early 70s my older sister who had acne was told by her dermatologist to avoid whole milk, chocolate, potato chips, and cola. He prescribed oral Vitamin A and Nutraderm moisturizer to use on her face after cleansing twice daily. Her skin eventually cleared with no scarring.

Lowcarb has changed my skin and overall health issues so much. On my 4th year and i cant imagine going back. Craving control is miraculous. Reduce inflammation and insulin and you can improve most health issues.

Cutting out dairy, red meat, and sugar really helped my acne and my hidradenitis suppurativa. Granted, I still get mini flare ups with both once in a while but its nothing compared to when I didn’t watch what I ate. You just have to be patient with the process.

Personally, I had 0 improvement from cutting out dairy and sugar. Works for some people, but it had no correlation with my skin

I used to drink cow milk in the early 2000’s and had severe acne. Once I slowed my consumption of dairy my skin cleared up so much. Just a testimonial here 🤚🏻

Inflammation (in the form of acne, arthritis, endometriosis, etc.) can be triggered by certain foods such as sugar, dairy, and gluten

First off, I love you and have been following you for well over a year now! Thanks to you and CeraVe, my skin is the clearest and healthiest it’s ever been! Secondly, I love how you outline that correlation does not equal causation (as anyone with any sort of research background knows) in a way that is easy to understand and relate to! I will continue to sing your praises, thank you for being you!!!! ❤️

Personally I found that mostly eating a moderately low fat whole foods plant based diet got rid of the vast majority of my acne. Lots of fruit and veg, whole grains, beans and lentils and a bit of nuts and seeds prepared without oil. Going from a higher fat wfpb diet to lower fat made a big difference. I still get a tiny bit around my period and I'm trying to treat that with skincare.
I'm not across research on it, but a GP with an interest in lifestyle medicine suggested it and it worked.

I eat a clean, dairy-free, whole food, low glycemic index diet, yet still suffer from hormonal acne :( changing my diet has definitely helped with overall inflammation and the amount of cystic bumps, but is not enough for me to be satisfied with my skin's appearance

These study are very credible. Everyone in my household is extremely lactose intolerant, but consume yogurt and cheese with absolutely no problems.

Twin studies, my favorite, as I’ve participated in some at NIH with my identical twin and mother & aunt who are also identical twins. 😊

Another clearly explained, thoroughly researched, and impeccably referenced video. Thank you so much for your generosity of time, expertise, and dedication. And I'm saying that as someone who watched this video while ploughing my way through a bowl of sugary cereal the size of my own head!

This is in no way definitive but more anecdotal: whenever I binge on Pizza or fried chicken or other fast foods, Boom! Acne in two days!
