The Non-Canon Expert looks at Imperial officers who were respected by Darth Vader.

This is a Legends story for Darth Vader with information found within the 2013 Star Wars comic series and the Legends novels "Star Wars: Legacy of the Force: Bloodlines" and "Star Wars: Legacy of the Force: Sacrifice." I hope that you enjoy it!

It’s pretty wild that Vader at his moodiest was still a more effective and respected commander in the eyes of his troops than most Jedi during the Clone Wars

I think it's important to note that after the 5 days Nanda spent with Vader, even though she earned her promotion, those credits, and the respect of the Dark Lord, she was deeply traumatized afterwards, having hallucinations of Vader everywhere she went. It is unknown how long these hallucinations lasted or if they even disappeared at all

It's crazy how Vader in a lot of ways actually represents the good, reasonable boss everyone deserves to have; he actually respects hard work, competence, integrity and holds everyone to the same and frankly, reasonable, standards; do your best, don't screw up, or just own up when you do. And if you do you'll get actually get rewarded very fairly so in spite of his other drawbacks he's actually very reasonable when it comes down to it. And unlike a lot of other bosses or people in HR he doesn't show or tolerate favoritism, double standards, incompetence or just blatantly give jobs or promotions based on class, family name etc. His attitude is actually a good example of both "you work hard you get rewarded" and "play stupid games win stupid prizes."

I wish the Sequel Trilogy have a bunch of these kind of Officers.

If she’s not in the next video, I think Major Oniye Namada counts as someone Vader respected.

He personally requested her assistance in undermining the Jedi in the point of view of a planet in order to more easily take over. And he never once threatened her life. That speaks volumes to me.

I love this because I read the books where the young Koth tells jacen about his grandfather's actions and the respect his family had for him. I never knew it was tied into a comic with that guys father

An empire under Grand Admiral Thrawn would be so cool to see in canon

Vader is a lot like Vlad the Impaler. Terrifying, honorable and inspiring

Man I love how this guy provides evidence and reasoning for his videos. And doesn't just spatter BS that doesn't have any examples.

Now this is the quality humanization Disney forgot to give to the Star Wars antiheroes and villains.
