Wow. Thank you very much, sir! My phone has been going downhill charging wise for over a year. It had gotten so difficult to charge that my phone was practically useless, and I was beginning to debate whether to just buy a new phone or take this one in for repairs. Excellent advise! As a former Electronic Technician, this is the SAFEST way to do this. Always turn off the equipment even though alcohol is non-conductive. It is safe for almost all electronic devices and cleans off the oil left by your fingers. You may also clean the plug with alcohol and a lint-free cloth. NEVER use a metal pick or knife as other "experts" on YouTube suggest. You could easily damage the contacts inside the connector.

I doubted the authenticity of your Fix, then I tried it on my faulty port and I removed an even greater quantity of Lint! Now my charger cable fit is as good as new.

I read in an article only a toothpick should be used because anything harder can damage the charging port.

Thanks InfoHut. The instructions worked for me. I used a toothpick and had to repeatedly scrape the inside of the port to get the debris out. Like bellybutton lint. Good info.

Thanks mate. I work in the garden a lot and after 2 days of planting and moving soil my phone wouldn't charge. Really wasn't looking forward to having to deal with a broke phone. Now I don't have to.

Very good, worked for me. I shut my iPod Touch down and used the curved steel pick as shown in the video. I think a toothpick might just pack it in to the corners worse. It is surprising how deep the socket is, and how much lint can get in there. The curved steel pick is called a "dental pick" and is available at many pharamacies in the "oral care" aisle, usually above the toothpaste.
