🔌📲🤔🤷 iPhone not charging? Learn how to fix your lightning cable in 90 seconds!

Is your iPhone not charging when you plug it in? You may have a lightning cable connector with dirty, corroded or oxidized pins. This is a known problem especially with pin #5 (ironically, the fourth one from the left.) Pin 5 carries the power and charging voltage to the phone.

Here's how I fixed up two of my own lightning cables, using things I had in my kitchen: 99% Isopropyl alcohol, some vinegar, a cloth, and some Q-tips.

If you have a misbehaving lightning cable, hopefully this works for you, too!

** LIGHTNING CABLE CLEANING **

* Q-tip w/99% Isopropyl Alcohol ("IPA") or “Goo Gone”, if you have it
* Dry + clean w/cloth or similar
* Soak in 5% vinegar for up to an hour, check occasionally
* Dry + clean again

00:00 - iPhone doesn't charge when plugged in

Thanks, I tried to fix this for 10 mins. My phone had 21% whilst I tried to plug it in, it didn't work, it had 19% whilst I tried, it had 18% when the problem solved. Now it's at 24%. Thanks Scott Schiller you are the best at fixing tech.

my issue turned out to be that there was lint inside the charging port, but this also helped me fix an older cable I had given up on. 10/10

Thanks for this video, because my wife and I were having some problems with charging iPhones. Using several different cords, sometimes not charging at all or sometimes actually losing charge. After a simple Q-tip with white vinegar, simply a few swipes and dry off. The cords are all working.
I actually got a jeweler’s magnifying glass, and could see some minor corrosion on the tiny bars.
( can’t see with naked eye)
This saved me money, cause I was ready to order new iPhone cords. Great advice.

Another thing to check is the iPhone charging port. Clean it out with a toothpick, you might be surprised by the amount of “fluff” that you remove. This worked for me.I carry my phone in my pocket and once I removed the pocket residue it charged perfectly.
