When your eggs are done boiling, strain them and put them in cold water. Crack the eggs and let them sit in the water for a few minutes. The water goes through the cracks and makes them easier to peel.

I make my eggs in the Instant Pot. The peel slides right off and comes off in almost 1 piece. Never making eggs another way.

I just boiled 6 eggs, half of which I’ve had for a week and the other half were purchased yesterday. I cook them in the bottom of a Pyrex double boiler I’ve had for 40+ years. Once they’re done, I pour off the water and shake the eggs around in the pot to crack them. I then run cold water from the tap over the eggs and let them sit a few minutes to cool long enough to easily handle them. I then peel them and place back into the water. They peel pretty much perfectly every time. I could tell no difference between the “new” and “old” eggs, but they’re all beautifully smooth and peeling them was absolutely simple. They don’t have to be ice cold - I think it’s actually easier to peel them when they’re still a little warm.

You guys don't know about the German way huh? We have an egg hole punch there. It's just a thick "needle" protected in a collapsible case, exposed when you push the egg onto it. Basically just punching a small hole into the thicker bottom end. You add the hole punched egg to the boiling water and wait for what ever consistency you are aiming for (get yourself an egg timer). Running tap cold water over the eggs after helps, but won't be necessary, except you are going for anything other than hard boiled and want to stop the cooking process inside.

I crack the eggs on the bottom side because when you boil them it leaves a little gap and the shells slide off. My toddlers love hard boiled eggs for breakfast but of course my 3 year old won’t eat them if they are cold. Lol I do put them in cold water for a few seconds just to stop the cooking and so I don’t burn my fingers but I found that if you want to serve them warm then that is the way to go.

The spoon method works well if you crack the entire shell before you insert the spoon under the shell. It will peel off in almost one piece.

Simplest way is to put boiled eggs, (boil for 12 minutes), then drain hot water & put eggs in container of iced water. This works for ALL eggs.

the rolling technique is by far the best. i'm watching egg peeling videos to find someone who can peel an egg as quickly as a german named wolfgang that i used to work with 35 years ago. he rolled it back and forth across the table then peeled the shell off in ONE piece. the shell was broken into very small pieces and stuck to the membrane. cooking technique had nothing to do with it. he could do it to my eggs as well. even with him advising me while i did it i still couldn't achieve his perfect results. he did it every day i worked with him.

As soon as I am done boiling my eggs. I crack them a little bit to let the water seep in. I let them sit in an ice water bath for about 10-15 minutes. Easy peasy leon squeezy

Too much water for jar/container method. When done right, no need to peel; shell falls off during shaking.

I just peeled 6 eggs with a combo method. First I cracked the cooked eggs on the rounded bottom (the end opposite the more pointy end). Then I put them back in cool water. Next I peeled the cracked end enough to use a spoon to peel the rest. Key is keeping the egg wet and being gentle.

wish this was with normal eggs which are brown, so I can see the actual shell.

Poke a hole at one of the ends of the egg before you boil.
