Yes, it is very clearly mentioned in the Mahabharat that Karna was a student of Drona along with Pandavas and Kauravas. He took his training under Drona only and the story that he was rejected by Drona is a fake story made popular by TV serials.

Later on he left the gurukul of Drona because Drona refused to teach and give him Brahmastra as he wanted the Brahmastra to defeat Arjun and establish himself as the greatest warrior. Drona refused him the Brahmastra because Karna was asking the same for a selfish reason out of jealousy for Arjun and not for any noble purpose.



After being refused by Drona, Karna went to Parshuram, joined his gurukul by lying to him about his identity and learnt the Brahmastra and other divine weapons.

However, Parshuram became very angry with him on discovering that Karna had lied to him about his identity and also cursed him.
