How to make your own rain repellent | AUTODOC tips

For protection against bad weather in spring and summer, use rain repellent.

It forms a protective film on car windows which effectively repels water.

You can make rain repellent at home: mix 50 ml (about 1 cap) of laundry rinse with 250–300 ml of water.

Apply the fluid you've prepared to the windscreen, and evenly distribute it.

Please note that this agent has a short-lived effect: after a car wash or heavy rain, you will have to repeat the procedure.

Wouldn't bother. I tried it and it just leaves a visible residue on the screen in the light and when you wipe, it'll streak and get worse.
Sorry autodoc, but that's why there are specific rain repellent screen washes out there.
P.s. Rainex works quite well.

😅 The fact that some of you even tried it is even more hilarious 😆 of course it’s going to stain. Just mix water & rubbing alcohol together and boom you have homemade rain repellent.

Umm.. so you just leave it there, not wiping off the excess, buffing it in like you do with rain x or anything after spraying it just to leave a nasty cloudy white film after and making it look just like a dirty mess? No thanks I think I'll just stick with rain x or using the car wax hack I like to use! Thanks anyways!

I believe thats fabric softener, usually found in the laundry aisle next to laundry detergents. It usually contains plasticy wax like contents. (Don't think this would work it would also damage the paint
I highly doubt this would work.

What exactly did u mix together to make the solution and do u rub it n around until it's completely dry or wipe it off with a dry cloth or wipe it off with a wet cloth or just wash the window and spray it on and take off?
Please explain exactly what you using and exactly what to do after spraying it on please.

the way i see it left side not been clean and right side already clean from watermark. maybe im mistaken

apply a thick layer of used engine oil on the windscreen, and leave it 24 hours. Dont wash it. Drive around. Wind will push out all the excess oil, and now the windscreen will have a super water repellent capacity.

silicon amino+alcohol… or pure silicon oil 350 cps or 1000cps better for long lasting the effect. if u have softener for your laundry cloth. u can use.. just mix with water or ethanol.
