Stanley Fat Max Jump Start box dead before it can be used.

Why their solder joint failed: not enough flux to allow the solder to flow out onto the board.

Another great video! I know several people that would have just thrown this away. Awesome to see it get fixed instead of thrown away.

Great reminder that if somethings already broken you're not going to break it even more if you open it up to take a look, and it doesn't take Big Clive to diagnose and fix a faulty solder joint. Thanks for the vid!

I like the way you tin your soldering iron's tip every time. I always forget that. In fact, I had forgotten about that over the years. Good technique. You're a fearless kind of a guy. I learn a lot.

The best one I learned from you was the Honda generator connection to a bulk tank. I did that on my two-Honda power station for my fifth wheel built into my truck bed box. Thank you.

i really do enjoy your videos. The explanations are clear and really easy to follow. Tips and tricks are well covered in plenty enough detail.Really good balance. Never being blinded by science nor dumbed down. you take the time to make video shots cover exactly what we need to see. Thanks for your work. Keep doing what you do. And Ginger doggy. so clever! So loyal!! reminds me of my own sheepdog, Roxy. (GSD x Border Collie). I have a little video of her on my channel. she made it to 20 yro. Really REALLY liked me bouncing tennis balls on tarmac hard so she could run and still catch. Thanks.

Came for the repair, stayed for the dog. Great save. I have a microwave that has the loudest and most annoying beep I’ve ever heard. I keep hoping the microwave will take a dump so I can justify opening it up.

Great diagnosis Bud!! It's nice when an electrical problem just jumps out like that!!☻

I thought it would be a bad battery like most of them are. I just discovered your channel and you have got some good videos with good examples of troubleshooting and problem solving.

You caught that bad solder joint pretty quickly. I like your logical approach to the diagnostic.

Great job Moe, as always great teaching, thorough, easy to understand, and helpful.

Moe, I bought one of these also about a year ago from Sam’s Club and so far so good. But you always wonder. Thanks for the video, gives me somewhere to troubleshoot. This was probably built on a Friday afternoon. My compressor is comparable to the M12 Milwaukee I own. They are ok for a motorcycle or bike but a car tire is a challenge. You’re the man!

I actually got this exact same one that one of my tenants left in our property. The issue with mine was one of the buttons was broke and stuck inside the unit. I opened it to repair the button and reassembled it. Evidently just as you did, I hit the connector for the USB ports and disconnected it. It was doing the exact thing yours was, flashing and wouldn't turn off. I figured it was probably something in the circuitry and was going to tear back into it when I had time. Then out of nowhere you posted this video! I swear it was just a couple days ago I was working on mine and I was looking for videos to see if I could get an idea of what was wrong.
Seeing your discovery of the connector, I knew exactly what was wrong with mine. I was so excited I paused your video grabbed mine and fixed it in less than 5 minutes.
Thank you for that! More than likely I would have discovered the problem when I tore back into it, but I'm sure it would have been days maybe weeks down the road. Now it works perfectly!
I may go back in and delete the beeper as well!

if for some reason you want to keep the beeper, but it's just too damn loud. A piece of tape over the top of them will often attenuate the volume dramatically.

It makes you wander how much stuff gets thrown out that is a simple fix to get it going. I stopped buying Stanley products along time ago the quality just isn’t there anymore. Anyway thanks for sharing love your channel

Great fix, when I buy a computer UPS I twist off the beeper, very easy, no un-soldering needed, just twist left & right and they come off the board cleanly.

The usb plug was hanging loose prior to you putting the cover back on.
Thank you for all your vids. I’ve learned a lot.

Saw the usb plug loose when u first took cover off… lol. I’d say a lot of those got tossed for simple things like that… good vid man!

Not 2 weeks ago I opened mine up. It was about 20 years old.. It's been dead on my shelf for years and totally forgotten, but I opened it up and it was the exact same battery as inside of yours!! I also liked charging mine off from a real battery charger and did it by hooking the jumper leads to my charger leads. I'd heard you could not do that on some jump boxes and that people were trying it and popping a fuse of something inside. Mine was pretty simple and as long as the switch was closed, it charged.. I had to use mine as a booster for my trailer winch several times and man did that work well!!

A majority of family appliance repairs or short lifespan electronics repairs that I have done were broken solder nodes. It's one of the first things I look for in a troubleshoot. Most of the time it's due to a cold solder joint on a larger gauge wire or component lead - operator or flow solder parameter error.

Shout out from your neighbor to the south, I live in Herriman. I really enjoy your channel and hopefully one day I'll run into you locally but I do a lot of my own repairs like this and can totally believe why it failed.

Thanks for the great content and keep it up.
