The fact that it takes a 17 minute video to explain Destiny content licensing is an example of how predatory Bungie is towards its new and returning players. Bungie markets Destiny as "free to play" but it's definitely not that. They need to do the right thing and wrap all past licenses into the latest annual release with The Final Shape. This would get so many players coming back to the game.

If you are looking to spend money, I'd start with the legacy collection, ideally on sale. Good amount of content with the best campaign. Lightfall is buying the ability to unlock strand, forsaken is adding exotics to the loot pool (meaning activities that exotic drops can now include forsaken exotics and you can buy forsaken weapons from the exotic kiosk).

I wanted to get back into destiny as I love the gameplay bought one or two expansions before roughky £100 .

Watched this and realising what the public says about bungie is true .

All these pay walls are a nightmare .

I’m happy to pay £40 to unlock all new and old so I can jump in like Warcraft, but as it stands i can’t keep up with which to buy bases on what me or my friends want or can afford .

bro the legacy collection rn is 24 euros for me on sale you helped me alot since i liked the free campaign on the witchqueen which you didnt need to buy i didnt wanna buy just the witch queen dlc for 20 euros so i was just waiting until i saw this video thank you alot for your help man this will change my way of seeing the game as a new player whos been playing for almost 3 weeks now with 100 hours i got really addicted to this game

I think if your a returning player your better off waiting for the expansions to go on sale as opposed to getting them when there full price. sure you would have to wait but it would be well worth it because you would only be spending around 100-125 dollars as opposed to 300

i stopped playing after the taken king expansion and pretty much the end of destiny, now intrested again i feel so lost and behind I have no idea where to start with destiny 2, and if i missed anything in destiny 1

Returning player with no dlc they have a promotional pack in steam rn that gives you everything, except for 2 dungeon keys and the final shape, for 25 bucks in steam

what an amazing video bro. really helpful! i just got back into destiny and i’m really digging it so far. i thankfully got blessed with forsaken and beyond light for free because of playstation plus, and i believe they have the witch queen available for download if you have the Extra version, which is only a $15 upgrade for me. Unfortunately only play by myself so it’s been a ride tryna figure out the efficient traits for PvE and PvP. also, trying to do past campaigns alone has been a journey since i refuse to finish them in anything worse than legendary. but appreciate your effort put into this video!!

The Galaxy Brain move is just buying the standard edition of Final Shape, buying the dungeon key and only playing the raids/dungeons since those are where the guns worth your time drop. If the last three seasons are any indicator, the Episode weapons could be very mid.

Also, y'know, waiting for stuff to go on sale is always a good idea.

If you are mostly a PVE player would you start with the legacy collection? I want to get into this game but aside from its huge download size and all the DLC, The many expansions are confusing as to where to start. Not to concerned with getting all the new stuff now as I would mostly want to play campaign stuff. Another thing are the updates on this game usually huge? Great video with good information.
