Persona 5 is the sixth game in the Persona series. It is a role-playing game developed by Atlus' P-Studio.

Persona 5 is a fantasy based on reality which follows a group of troubled high school students: the protagonist and a collection of compatriots he meets. These disturbed and troubled teenagers gradually realize that they are living in a toxic and dangerous world resembling a prison full of slavery, oppression and injustice, ruled by corrupted and twisted adults. They can't live with the system and can't live without it, and simply existing means they are at risk of being doomed and condemned to a life of slavery.

In order to seek freedom, liberation and justice, they live dual lives as rebellious Phantom Thieves of Hearts. Using a mysterious smartphone app, they undertake fantastical adventures by using otherworldly powers to enter the hearts of people (specifically, corrupt adults in positions of power) in order to re-shape and transform them. The Phantom Thieves realize that society forces people to wear masks to protect their inner vulnerabilities, and by literally ripping off their protective mask to unleash their Personas and confronting their inner selves do the heroes awaken their inner power, and using it to help those in need. Ultimately, the group of Phantom Thieves seeks to change their day-to-day world to match their perception, end slavery and see through the masks modern society wears.

Pro-tip: If you let the Reaper ambush YOU, he only gets one attack per turn instead of two.

Meaning the chances of dying before you can run away (Hifumi allows you to run despite being surrounded) are cut in half.

I remember when I first encountered a reaper. My little step siblings were over for the weekend and I tried to put loads of hours into the game as quickly as possible. I was only about level 26 at the time and desperately needed to grind.
I muted the t.v. since the kids ended up talking over it and I thought I didn't need to have sound on. Mum called me just as I fought a shadow and reluctantly stepped away from the PlayStation.

When I came back I thought nothing of it and entered one of those huge rooms that treasure its usually in. I looted a crate, turned around and did a real life QTE...pausing the game when the reaper was inches away from me.

It made the kids laugh but I was close to having a heart attack. It would have been fine if I was expecting it but I had to turn the sound off which gave me no clues 😂😂



Eventually I duked him and ran to another floor, but from then on I was super careful about leaving it on when I was mid way through mementos

I knew about using the reaper to do this *exploit* i had no idea it works better with mishima.. damn guess ill have to get him up to 10 so i can try this again was getting a little under 207k exp from the reaper without mishima but after hitting leveling 70-75 it started to slow down think i eventually hit 95 in like 1-2 hours

wow i was wondering where the reaper was... i never encountered it and i'm at endgame. guess i just never stayed on a mementos floor long enough. good to know for my new game+ though

I think Atlas patched the exploit after I encountered the reaper twice the game stopped giving him despair state no matter how many times I tried.
Update: (restarting the game seems to fix the problem)
