So glad I saw this video. Very similar college situation for me too. In my 20’s I could never nail down a long term plan. Lots of college units, 124, but no degree. Went into business, but unfortunately my business has never fully recovered since Covid, so I’m going back to school to take the pre requisites for the 2 year radiologic technology program. I’m 40 btw. My daughter is 2. Her and I are moving in with my parents to help me out while I get through school. Never thought in a million years I’d be living back with my parents at 40. But it’s only for a few years and I got to focus on the bigger picture. This video really helped. Thank you 🙏

This deeply resonated with me as a former cop who just got accepted into an x ray program I’m so excited and ready to lock in and get this degree

I’m a 21 year old MEDICAL ASSISTANT making minimum wage in Cali. I legit cannot rent a studio atm while paying for other expenses not mention my health ins. won’t cover things I need. I share a $500 dollar room with 2 other girls. I have zero support from my parents as they both are homeless and struggle with mental issues my family is also struggling so they can’t take me in. I want to make the big move of going to school full time and I’m very interested in becoming a rad tech as I work at an ortho clinic and see a lot of rad techs enjoy what they do. I hope I can come back this comment as a graduated technologist and be able to take care of my family. Thank you for this video 🙏🏼

Thank you so much for this video! I tried to do college for a year after highschool and I ended up just dropping out. I've been working a few jobs here and there and just have not found anything that is remotely interesting to me. When I came across the rad tech field it really resonated with me and now I'm planning on going back to college next Fall after my wife is finished with her masters!

hey Brandon, I am so thankful for this video. I have been recently diagnosed with adhd and now everything i went through in my past makes sense. I always struggled with studying and because of my adhd, i find myself feeling a bit intimidated by the thought of a whole 2 years worth of rigorous studying I would have to do. I have been looking into this position for the last two weeks and I am between radiation therapist or radiologic tech, im leaning towards tech. I resonate with not just your add but also bouncing from job to job and having phases where you think you are convinced you want to do but it ultimately turned out it wasn't for you. I have wasted plenty of time and money trying to find the right career and here is me fingers crossed hoping this is my chance. You have earned yourself a subscriber! Looking forward to more posts!

I love your intro about how it is difficult to choose a major at such a young age. I can relate, i'm planning to change my major to radiologic tech. Very useful video, thank you.

this is a great video! in my third year of community college and cannot find a reason to continue this form of school much longer, so I think I will do x-ray tech. I have really bad adhd so the process of an education focused entirely on relevant material perked my ears up. I really want a job where I can get trained as I work/apprenticeship, or at least have my education be highly tailored towards my career choice. Right now im studying business administration with no clear path, and all the classes im taking are irrelevant to the the physical jobs i will do. I also dont want to spend 40k for university just to get into serious debt and not be able to find a job. Rad tech seems like a clear and focused path with lots of money to make and job security.

Your story was really helpful, and I'm glad your dad got the help he needed. It's such a noble reason for joining the field. I'm partly joining for the reason of helping as well. To be able to connect with people, use equipment, and software, all sounds really great. I've largely worked as a server/bartender, then most recently I did two years of home care, so I don't have much of any experience toward radiology. But at 35 I feel more motivated than ever. Thank you!

Thank you for the video! The timing of this is amazing, I was going into nursing I only had 2 courses left to get into my program but I kept feeling like my choice wasn’t a 100%, a few days ago for the first time I started doing research on this profession and like you said the pros outweigh the cons by so much. I am in Canada so there’s only a handful of programs here but I am so much more excited for this. This video popping up is Divine timing, I am happy I didn’t rush my schooling. Anyways I digress, thanks again 😇

Good luck with everything.
Best wishes

I already got my bachelor’s in a relatively useless degree and still haven’t been fulfuilled since I graduated. I am in a kind of similar boat that you were in, my mom got diagnosed with cancer and seeing all of the healthcare faculty along with radiation therapists helping her made me want to do something like that for a good cause. I am still in the very early learning steps, and about to apply to my local cc to finish pre reqs and then strive to get into their rad tech program. Super nervous but your story helped me and I want to prove to myself that I can do something if I really want to

thank you, what I needed to hear was there different paths you can explore with it. As someone who thinks she has an ADD or something similar, I need to "know" those different paths are an option. If someone seems like me and touches points that i also feel, then I know their path is a path I know will most likely help me. Thank you for sharing your experience!

Thank you so much for posting this! I'm currently in a similar situation right now. I am still in high school but for the longest time I felt so lost and pressured on what I wanted to do in my life and everything else I've tried just seemed so uninteresting and unappealing and just don't know what to do! I've always had a thing with people and I definitely see myself being fulfilled if I ever worked as someone who can improve the lives of other people and I have had a thought about a career in some sort of radiology before. Maybe I'll try it out whenever I can. Thank you!!

Thank you for this video. I’m not coming out of high school, (but I have a son that is). But I’m looking at a new career path at 48. Just registered and hoping to start in the fall.
But I just really want to say that I hope your dad is doing great.
Thanks again for the information
