42yr old man here, who has been a rev head since I was about 14. I've had a vl, ss, xr6t, au ute, etc. By far, the FUNNEST car I've had and nang around in today, is my manual Mazda2. Seriously, so much fun to drive, very spritely, handles very well, runs on an oily rag and super reliable. Fun fact, fold the seats down and you can squeeze 440kg of red gun firewood 😂

The best first car is that AMG that mummy and daddy buys you to park outside your rose bay home they buy you 🥲

If there was a best automotive you tube channel to watch in 2024, you guys would be in the top 5.

I bought my girlfriend a one owner 2015 Ford Festa 1.5 litre petrol,
5 speed, 5 door in immaculate condition with 125, 000 kms on it for $9500. It is an awesome little car. Proper gearbox, proper timing belt (not one of those stupid oil soaked things). It was such a good buy. We are very happy with it.

Get a beater shitbox so you improve your driving skills in it first. After that it's easy to buy whatever you desire.

Fantastic video as always guys, honestly the way your content is consistently the best car related content on YouTube is amazing. I’ve utilised your reviews a few times for purchasing a car but even when I’m not in the market for one they are just so entertaining and informative. This video couldn’t have come at a better time too as we are going through the parent vs child buying scenario at the moment.

I bought my first car in November last year, a 2007 Toyota Camry Sportivo with a 5 speed manual gearbox and could not be happier. I paid $5500 for it and it had 190, 000kms. I've had no issues with it so far, and installed a reverse camera and new head unit which is pretty easy to do yourself and I highly recommend it. It took me a long time to find one with a manual though, it seems that 99% of 2006+ Camry's are autos unfortunately.

Absolutely agree with the 86/BRZ, had a 2014 for my first car, was amazing fun for a 'slow' performance car and still did road trips and around town fine. Just expect to be low to the ground, test drive one if you can, Addictive!

As an owner of the 9th generation Honda Civic, can agree, they are a fabulous motor car, but with one glaring issue, they are only around 45cm high! Though for a young person, no problem at all. Went from the superior civic hatch to a Yaris hatch because it was approximately 40 times more comfortable to get in and out of due to it's higher roof.

I’d say look at a 2010 Honda Odyssey. That’s my first car (had it for a year now) and it is fantastic. Has 150, 000km and I’m sure it’s got plenty of life left in it, that’s usually around $13K to buy. Luckily I was given the car from my girlfriend’s mum and I want to hold onto it as long as I can.

31:30 Warning on hybrid Camry. I had 2 engines blow the bearings on the highway within a year (2010 model). One on moderate throttle overtake and the other on moderate throttle climbing a hill.

My first car was an opel astra f from 1996 with a 1.6 petrol. Had 220k km on it and it lasted me for 30k km before it broke down after 3years. Bought it for 700€ sold it as is for 200€. Most cheap and economical car ive ever owned

Didnt think that era Swift (FZ) had the CVT, but rather the 4 speed auto. CVT was in the Sport only, and later across the AZ series, and the Turbo Sport plus 1L Turbo went to the 6 speed auto. Happy to be corrected.

I'm a big fan of the Mazda 2. We've had 3 through our house and apart from the kids killing the clutch on the first one, they have been rock solid. For a first car, you seriously could not go past one.

My first car was a 73 Mini 1100cc. Dad and replaced the rings in it. Had the hydrolastic suspension topped up by a mechanic at New Lambton that still had the fluid. I just purchased a new Outback XT. How often should I replace the CVT fluid?
