I got a Ford Fusion 2012 for my first car this year. I take an automotive class at school, and two of my classmates have one, so its a good car

You can probably get a pre facelift s197 v8 for a reasonable price. I’ve found them somewhat consistently for about $7500-$8500 with the manual transmission and reasonable miles.

Good to see you back. I hope to get an older car soon enough, once I can get on my feet financially.

Man, this reminds me a lot of when I was looking for my first car during spring last year, was dead set on getting an 05-06 GTO and couldn’t find one for months for a good price, but was finally able to find one for 10k with 110k miles, (half of the price was able to be offset due to trading in a Lexus to copart after it got nailed by hail), and even though I’ve had to cross multiple states for parts and do a lot of fixing on it, I could not have been happier in the last year and a quarter and ~8k miles

Also a vw golf mk4 with a 1.9 tdi alh or 1.8t 20v engine and manual transmission would be a great option. The diesel ones can go up to 400k miles without major repairs.

I'd also add the GMT 800 series of trucks and suvs too. Besides the mediocre fuel economy which is to be expected, the flimsy 4l60e transmissions, and how hard it is to find models with lower mileage, these trucks are cheap, super reliable, easy to work on, and come with pretty decent amounts of features. I drive an 04' GMC Yukon Xl that I got as my first car and It still runs perfectly with almost 230k miles. Awesome video btw! 👍

Loved my 07 zx5 focus dyno tuned with crane aftermarket cams and every bolt on you could buy for the 2.0 duratec engine the exterior was bone stock you would hear it before you figured out where the noise was coming from it was great little sleeper and a blast to drive

been looking at a few early model E90 3 Series for a first car. I've heard good things about the 3.0 I6 models, which is most of them.

From my experience don’t get a mustang for your first car. Yes they are great first cars. The only problem is from my experience (my first car was a 07 v6 mustang) the insurance company wanted 1000 a month for insurance as soon as I got my license and I turned 18. (When I had to get my own insurance). Unless you have daddy’s money (nothing wrong with that) or you make 1000 a month as a teenager (really unlikely) I would stay clear intill insurance on it would be a little cheaper. Because at that point your paying more per 6 month policy than the car is worth

My first car was a 2008 ford fusion SEL. I bought the car for 6k with 85k miles. I got to 98K and the engine blew up almost killing me. I have also heard something similar to other Fusion owners.
