💲 NEED FINANCIAL ADVICE? 💲
1) Google "fee-only financial adviser" or visit www.NAPFA.org (largest association of fee-only financial advisers). NOT an affiliate link
2) The first question to ask any financial adviser is, "Are you a fiduciary to me 100% of the time". Get the answer in writing
3) Please note that some people call themselves "fee-based". This is NOT the same as fee-only. Fee-only advisers have committed to being fiduciary to you 100% of the time.
4) Personally, I would only hire an adviser who is a fiduciary to me 100% of the time. This is not a suggestion on what you should do. Just sharing my personal preference.

⚠️ Azul's "Scammer" Warning ➡ PLEASE READ! ⚠️
Be careful of scammers. In the comments section, I will NEVER ask you to contact me, offer any investment products, recommend a stock broker, or anything similar. Some scam bot commenters 'ask' for investment help, and later, other comment bots reply with "how great X idea/investment/person is" in the replies. These are scam threads. Do not fall for them.

🚨 Azul's VIDEOS ARE NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE (Disclaimer) 🚨

The decisions on how to invest, when to retire, and other financial planning topics are some of the most important financial decisions you will make in your life. I urge you to seek professional financial advice as you make this decision. Ideally, from a financial adviser, AND a CPA AND an attorney. Having the perspective of all three professions will help you make the right decision for you and your family.

This information is being presented without consideration of the investment objectives, risk tolerance, or financial circumstances of any specific investor and may NOT be suitable for all investors.

This information is NOT intended to, and should NOT, form a primary basis for any investment decision that you may make. Always consult your own legal, tax, and/or investment advisor before making any investment/tax/estate/financial planning considerations or decisions.

Spoiler Alert: There are no "get rich" programs. Rather, just basic blocking & tackling and putting in time and care. Do your homework, choose wisely and (IMHO) work with experienced professionals who are fiduciary to you 100% of the time.

More and more people might face a tough time in retirement. Low-paying jobs, inflation, and high rents make it hard to save. Now, middle-class Americans find it tough to own a home too, leaving them without a place to retire.

I'm 66, retired, and don't understand why people work to age 70, just so they can buy more stuff! Time doesn't have a price tag, so stop wasting it to buy more material objects, that you can't take with you.

Excellent topic Azul!! Definitely agree with your points. Here are my TOP 10 - thoughts/points to maximize life in your 50's and 60's
1. Take great care of yourself- Eat less, take naps, don't smoke or drink, for exercise consider, yoga, swimming, indoor biking, weight training and of course Pickleball.
2. Get a dog- a big fun loving dog like a Golden Retriever. Your wife will ignore you and your kids are in their own world, but the dog will always love you.
3. New friends- get some new friends who truly respect you and who you can speak with .
4. Massage- when the world finds you unattractive a good massage will always make you feel good.
5. Keep track of your time- at the end of each day spend a few minutes and write down what you did during the day. Now plan out your next day.
6. Keep constantly learning with YouTube. Curate your top videos into folders to have ready to listen to.
7. Keep working at least part time- unless you are extremely wealthy, more money is always good to have, especially when you are forced to retire.
8. Travel can be overrated- unless you are going to someplace you love with great people, don't feel obligated to travel.
9. Become spiritual- whether you are religious or not, pray and follow some religious belief. Study Stoicism.
10. Make peace with the past- the majority of us have not reach our goals and we have made many mistakes along the way. Love and forgive yourself and just do better with the remaining years of your life. Always focus on what you can control.

I think the retirement crisis will get even worse. A lot of people can’t save because of low paying jobs, inflation, and insane rental rates. And now that home ownership is out of reach for middle class Americans, they won’t have a house to retire with either.

I'm 65 and I will never retire because I love what I do. My grandfather was an entrepreneur to the age of 97 and he lived his life to the full and learned computers at 90. He's my hero.

I’m 70 & retired at age 62. Had many heath issues & wanted to enjoy whatever life that remained. My husband is younger than me but retired at 65; he had to wait until he was eligible for Medicare. We STOPPED all rude, toxic, scheming opportunists from being in our lives long ago. We are enjoying each other’s company, life & pets each & every day.

I am 55 years old…was healthy…in August 2023…I went into septic shock..was in organ failure almost died. Was shocking for everyone that knows me. So yes. Make the most of everyday the best you can. And try not to take it for granted. I am getting better…but still having some issues. Trying to truly appreciate Everyday….and always tell your loved ones you love them. Every day…..you might not get another day

As a personal trainer, I'm constantly attempting to get my clients to change their behaviors to help them age gracefully. One of my trainer friends' favorite saying is "Your health is your wealth". Let that sink in.

I retired five years ago and we moved to Spain from the states. Fantastic move. So glad we did. New life, enjoying it all.

Absolutely- I actually told a new friend that being with her, doesn’t work for me and I always came away feeling shitty. I was so happy I did. Never saw her again.

Azul, Thankyou for highlighting this topic.
It's my birthday today, 1st February 2024. (I'm 54).
From this day forward I will no longer just coast through life and simply exist. Instead I will appreciate each day, meet new people, do more things I enjoy and really live life to the full. Life is precious and tomorrow is not guaranteed, so no more procrastinating and more living.

With world markets tumbling, inflation soaring, the Fed imposing large interest rate hikes, the treasury yields rising rapidly, markets manipulations, and many other factors makes me wonder if people still make profits investing.

Alot of wisdom in this. I retired 2 years ago from teaching dentistry. Several of my friends at work said, "You'll be back in a few months." I knew better. I looked at others who had retired, some happy in retirement, some languishing. I realized a year before retirement that you don't want to sleepwalk into retirement. You need to have a plan, you need to remain engaged in life and engaged with people. I decided that in retirement I would use this new gift of time to learn new skills and rehabilitate old ones that had fallen away. Well in advance of retirement day I compiled a list of about 15 things that I wanted to try out. It was intentionally way more than I could ever get to so that if one didn't work out I'd move on to the next one without spreading myself too thin. It's worked out beautifully so far and my wife and I are loving every day. It's been a permanent summer vacation and we feel blessed.

I’ve been retired for four years and watch a lot of retirement videos. This was some of the best advice I have heard yet. Thank you for sharing this.

Mr. Azul, you're an inspiration to me. I work at a job that does nothing but stresses me out and my blood pressure is up, I get bouts of depression and sadness. I've been told that I'm a great employee and that they rely on me because they need me, but in the meantime there's employees that call off and their work load gets put on me. The employees know they can call off cause our company has a shortage of good people that they over work people like me. You're videos have opened my eyes. I'm actually not ready to retire at 62 but I'm going to get prepared to feel better before the next 2 years over. Relationships with great people, downsizing, pay off things within a year is my goal. I'm actually going through a depression stage now but watching you had brought my perspective on live to a new light. I thank you so much. I'm going to watch you for the motivation. Take care 😊

I began my investment journey at the age of 33, primarily through hard work and dedication. Now at the age of 38, I am thrilled to share that my passive income exceeded $100k in a single month for the first time. This success reinforces the importance of the advice mentioned earlier. It is not about achieving quick wealth, but rather ensuring long-term financial prosperity.
