What’s one thing you’ve stopped doing to simplify your life? 🤍

Something I did was to stop waiting for the people around me to change in order for me to make changes. For example, I was able to simplify my life (at least mentally) by not forcing myself to stay awake until my husband wanted to go to bed, and also waking up when my body was ready to instead of trying to sleep in just because he did. I want my wind down period at 9pm but he wasn't sleeping until 11. And I wanted to get up at 5 to go to the gym but I waited so long to go because I was waiting for him to want to start going with me. When that didn't happen I started to go anyway. Not planning my day around other people made things so much better and more simple for me

Hi Ashlynne, I hope you are well. I used to over-analyse every conversation and interaction I had with people. Did I offend them? Was my tone of voice wrong? Did they want or expect me to say something different? It was so pointless! I'm trying to care less about what others think now. Most of the time, they don't give you a second thought, anyway! I am also learning to laugh at myself, rather than chastise myself if I do something silly. I think getting older helps with that! Have a great weekend. 😁

As a much older viewer who’s almost 60, working 40 years I have learned not to always say yes to things. I started doing that about 20 years ago. Of course when there’s emergencies I’m right there, but last minute things that people want me to do and I’m not in the mood I say no. I have to think about my mental health. I wish YouTube was around when I was much younger I may have been a different person. Thank you for these videos and the encouragement that you give to people you are a bright spot😀

I’m so proud of how well you have done on YouTube. I’m old enough to be your mother, in fact I have a son your age so I look at you being so young and being so successful. I actually started a YouTube channel last year after thinking about it for a while. Being older I felt a little self conscious but I just decided I would just do it. It’s a small channel but it’s something I enjoy doing. My life isn’t full at all as I have an autoimmune disease. It’s actually very boring. The only thing that I feel overwhelmed with is the clutter in my home. I’m working on it slowly as I tire easily but I’m hopeful I will finish one day.❤️🙏

WOW! You're such a wise young woman. I am 56 years old and realized recently that you can't please everyone. I have decided that as a Christian I am going to seek his will and do what he leads me to do. And yes it is so important not to have every second of your day planned.

How to deal with a spouse that creates clutter and/or is not a minimalist would be a great video as I can relate.

One thing I try to remind myself is stop comparing yourself to other peoples façades… what people put on social media is always the “perfect days” and also edited pictures. Thank you for always keeping it real and giving us this reminder 💜

The "Stop trying to be perfect", "Stop pleasing people" and "Stop comparing yourself to others" is the three that I'm also dealing with on a daily basis, so I could definitely resonate with that! It's a daily journey and something I'm still working on! Thank you for this video!

Ashlynne, you uploaded this video at the right time. This week I especially been stuggling with your first and last points brought up in this video.
I like to create daily to-do lists for after I am done with my job each day. I am always tired after I am finished with my work day, so I am not sure why I have so many to-dos. A big reason is that I don’t want to do these things on the weekend. However, my weekends get jam packed too. So I am trying to tell myself to focus on the time sensitive stuff and the other stuff will get done when they are meant to be done. I literally wrote this down for me to read every day because I feel like I am about to be burnt out. Usually my body will make me slow fown via migraine unfortunately.
Also social media and comparison is something I have stuggled a lot with as well so I am working on limiting my time on social media. Seeing the hustle culture on social media definitely does not help me and I am trying to tell myself how I do things is enough and the pace I do them is enough. All the points you bring up are all definitely a work in progress for me.
Thank you for all that you do 😊

I delegated some work tasks and allowed myself more time to properly focus and give things the time they need and getting up earlier for me time!

Like YouTube Kate Kaden says, embrace the "JOMO". Joy of missing out can be the best part of my day. Just listening to others complaining about their over-scheduled days, makes me anxious.

I have stopped booking myself so busy and it feels great. However, as for rest, I don’t enjoy just sitting for any period of time. I like to be up doing something and being active. To sit for an hour or more makes me crazy 🤪

Girl, I agree with you :) Small steps every day lead to miracles, this is what I've understood recently. ❤
