What are your thoughts on intuitive eating? I'm curious.

she's using a literal luggage strap for a belt because normal belts don't fit her... that is a sign she ABSOLUTELY needs to lose weight dear god

There are literal commercials and ads about how smoking/vaping is unhealthy. And there are billboards about how drinking is bad for you. She chose the worse things to use as examples

Promoting intuitive eating when you’re obese is like promoting responsible drinking when you’re an alcoholic.

Marissa has created a world where everything she says is valid, respected, cannot be questioned, and she can do no wrong. Honey, that’s not how the world works 😂 but it must be nice to live in delusion

The third woman arguing that we don't call out other addictions or harmful behaviours such as drinking.... Maybe that's because there isn't a huge community of alcoholics saying "I have the healthiest relationship to alcohol rn and you don't know what you're talking about <3", showing themselves drinking excessive amounts, making their whole identity about drinking, calling people names for being concerned, saying they are being drink-shamed or people are alcoholicphobic etc. I am sure people would call that out or at least not be a fan of it.

Marissa weight isn't what makes her ugly, her personality is. Even if she was super thin, she would still have a toxic ass attitude and complain about everything she could.

I lost 100 lbs using intermittent fasting. Yes, it indeed restricts. But since I was a big fat load, I definitely needed to restrict food intake. Like, duh.

Sorry, I know it's bad to laugh but when they talked about their 'healthy' relationship with food and you pulled up their 'what I eat in a day' with close to 4000 calories I choked on my tea

That “healthy” food girl with 3000+ calories. I’m crying 😂😂

Why are they all so condescending? Nobody is going to listen to someone who speaks to people like this. What's gross about them isn't their weight or desire to stay fat but rather their horrible attitudes. That's what I'm judging.

A "restrictive diet" for someone that clearly has an unhealthy relationship with food is the same thing as cutting back on alcohol consumption. Yeah sure you want 10 shots every night, but that's gonna kill you so cut back. I literally don't understand their logic.

I think these people don‘t understand that just because you‘re fat and eat a salad every week doesn’t mean you‘re healthy 😬

Damn, Marissa's friendly reminders don't sound friendly at all

I just love the "if somebody from this group tells you this is harmful you need to shut up and agree"

No. What if they're a dick, what if they're request is unreasonable, what if they're wrong and a majority of people in their own group don't agree with them? The hell is this stance?

it's so so so ironic that when talking about it being "eating disorder awareness week" she jumps straight into intuitive eating. in my experience, as someone with an ed who has a lot of friends with eds, intuitive eating doesn't work when you have an already fucked up relationship with food. if you have chronically overfed or underfed you body, you don't tend to recognise hunger cues, which makes you perpetuate binging and restricting behaviours. i have a book about written by a doctor in nutrition and in like the second chapter she says "this is not a method for people with eating disorders". these people don't actually care about people who struggle with eating disorders, they just use it as a reason you can't criticise them

The day Marissa stops posting will be a sad day. She just provides me with so much entertainment.

IF + calorie counting are the only eating method that STOPS my binges. Without it I keep eating to emotionally comfort me. It’s ok if IF doesn’t work for some people because nothing is for everybody, but anybody that is against IF and calorie counting boils my blood. This shit saved my life - and my bank account.

"we don't call out people who are drinking, smoking or do drugs" yeah we actually do. But YOU try to tell us, that being fat or even obese can be or is healthy... That's like saying being a drug addict isn't always unhealthy

imagine how shocked all these FAs would be to learn that every single person does IF when they go to sleep; in fact, the term "breakfast" is break fast.
