This has been life changing. I'm new to mindfulness. The mini- mindful moments you've taught have helped so much. It's helped me from the mild irritation of sitting in traffic. Later, I felt a panic attack building and did the mini mindfulness immediately and it helped. Soon after, at home, another attack began building. The mini session worked again. AsI started calming down, I stepped out of it and began to compassionately observe it. I was terrified but accepted that as well. I can't say I made friends with my panic. Yet. More like strangers nodding in passing but that's HUGE. A big difference from the normal cycle. It's been hours and I haven't felt another about to start. And I've got a peace & relaxation going on I wouldn't change for anything.

On the other hand fighting a war out in the field or fighting a war in your mind it really doesn’t make a difference so you are right the best thing for me to do is to begin having compassion towards myself

Shiver me I wasn't relating, at first, because I have little trouble finding happiness. I can usually find happiness quite easily and swiftly. But he said something I can translate to my own experience. When I sit in meditation waiting for a profound experience so I can feel spiritual and connected to spirit, I'm telling myself that I'm not spiritual and I'm not connected to my spirit guides. I need to grok that I am spiritual, by nature, and always connected to my friends and family in the spirit world. Thank you for this Aha moment! 🙏🏻🧘🏻‍♀😊

I feel like in the beginning stages of meditation, we go in with the intention of trying to experience something, when what we really are looking for is to experience NOTHING. It's in the nothing, the stillness, the silence that we find ourselves.

If you pursue happiness, it becomes slippery and empty. If you pursue meaning, then it comes and goes consistently, but you still have meaning. Pursuing what is meaningful trumps happiness.
