Meditation has been scientifically proven to have many health benefits, like reduced anxiety and better emotional health. While this is great, I also see many people struggling with incorporating meditation in their daily routines.

At first meditation is burdensome, then it becomes a life preserver

Why the mind hates meditation
because meditation is process of gaining control over mind

My mind: "read the comments section during this video. I'm totally capable of reading and listening at the same time. You can trust me."
Me: *missed most of what was said in the video and had to watch it again*

That's the most important realization one can make in life: you are not your mind. If you understand this fact and master acting accordingly you have won half the battle already.

Meditation leads to ego dissolution, when the ego realizes this it fights back for control.

Buddhist monk and 15 year meditator here. Interesting video with some good points and good quotes from Buddha Gotama. The first thing people who want to start meditating should know is that it is HARD, and it's supposed to be HARD, once you realize that then you'll go into it with less worry and judgement when you can't do something as "simple" as following the breath :).

Even if you've been meditating for many years, your mind can still be a "monkey mind" a good portion of the time, especially during the day if you are not practicing mindfulness in all your activities. Your mind will STILL try to convince you not to meditate and to do something more "fun" or "interesting" instead. For a seasoned practitioner it just happens less because you take things less personally and worry less, so the mind has less to want to mull over and plan for. Your mind has also seen the benefits of being calm and quiet and how much less suffering it is, but you're not quite wise enough yet to totally let go of all the "fun" stuff that agitates the mind.

I started in March with 10 min per day . The first weeks were soooo hard ... now I meditate 30 min in the morning and 30 min in the evening . It’s wonderful .

Found out through research that meditation can cause heightened productivity and success. If you can stay in a meditative state where your mind is quiet but alert for long periods of time your mind starts staying in that state outside meditation allowing some form of cognitive intuition that your normally not aware of to flow to your conscious awareness but you can only become aware of it when your mind is quiet. Its like experiencing aha moments 24/7

...as Alan Watts said .as an example..if you want to give up something...smoking for instance, the other you inside knows exactly what you are going to to and opposes it.
Don't think about.
Do it.

One minute in my mind was like: "Don't listen to this, it's boring"

Also the mind likes to keep you in the illusion that meditation is a verb, action or doing, that requires results, attainments and rewards!
Meditation is a humans natural state of being, the process allows the individual to transition from the thinker to the observer, when this transition is ingrained and an individual identifies with and operates from their true essence of awareness, that which allows the manifestations of thoughts and feelings, then formal meditation falls away and a natural ability to live in harmony with life remains 🙏🏽

I kept wondering why I never feel like meditating, even though I feel great when I do! I can’t seem to make it a consistent part of my day.

I watch videos like this daily now. It not only helps me understand meditation, but it also is calming and aids me on my journey to healing of the mind and body.

Looking forward to congratulating you on your swift rise to 100k subscribers - happy to be one of them!
I just found your channel a week ago and I gotta say, you're presentation is so good that it's become the main reason I enjoy your videos. You talk about things I enjoy, which obviously helps, but anybody can talk about anything - not everybody can do it smoothly. Thanks for such high quality presentation.
Peace happiness and health to you!

Thank you for this video. I keep falling off the meditation wagon. When I was meditating regularly my then psychiatrist noticed how much more nonplussed and centered I became how much less judgmental I became.

*Meditation and Mindful Living* is like an oxygen tank in this day and age.
With digitisation and an endless stream of information that is being thrown at us, it is rally about keeping the sanity intact.
