That's not entirely true., Many areas The native still speak Their original language. Quechua is making a big comeback, as is Mayan. To be fair there was destruction of records, but also some saved by scholars as well.
Let's be honest, Europeans were not the only ones to colonize or destroy cultures, the Persians did so too, going so far as to wipe out all mention of those who were destroyed.
