Great tutorial, mate. Thanks so much. Absolutely well explained and the hint with the anti-static wristband was top. Cheers!

This is a great demo for different levels of camera control - everything from "tripod mounted DSLR" to "toddler holding webcam on head during 9.0 earthquake"

Despite the oft-mentioned camera shake, I think your video is great. Your presentation skills are (uncommonly) excellent. The side-by-side thing at the end was also very helpful.

Very helpful about deactivating licensed software. Needed to know that. Thanks!

Excellent idea. I did that with my old Toshiba Windows Vista laptop. Only I have upgrade to 4GB of ram with Windows 7 Home Premium.

Very informative - I find my laptop boots up in 12 seconds these days rather than 45 - I'm totally converted to SSDs!

Good video.   I can't tell which Acer he's using but sometimes its good to update the bios if possible especially in dual core laptops.   I did this in two Lenovo T61 machines.   You won't get SATA 3 speeds but SATA 2 is still good.

Look here for tips to optimize your SSD.   You want to limit the writes.   Windows 7, 8 and 10 all have trim but there are still things users can do to ensure a SSD lasts longer although in general they will out last and out perform any mechanical drive.

The SLC ones that I try to find cheaply will cost you dearly per gigabyte but SLC is a much faster memory than the MLC nand and will also last longer.

I just put a Samsung 850 EVO 250gb SSD into my four year old Toshiba Satellite and the difference is amazing.

I now have a spare 500gb 2.5" HDD which I am going to put into my PC as spare storage.

2:58 Don't do anything like this if you are not experts. even experts don't do it. it tells information about it's products on your hands. and sometime it shows you how to put this thing in your PC/Laptop

The last thing I wanna do is be more productive at work, I am sure the 15 seconds you save on boot time won't make you a better worker. That is why offices have a coffee maker. LOL

In 2012 this was probably an expensive move, now it's relevant, though I suspect that laptop is slower than my three year old chromebook and not fit for purpose.

So I can just use my system restore discs to install my windows? And copy all my files and renistall my programs separatley.

But then again if you spent an age getting a bunch of stuff that you actually need on the original drive then you may wanna migrate if you have the software to do that rather than a clean install

So ... that Crucial SSD Drive will plug right in to my 2003 Gateway Laptop that is a PATA Drive? I would think one would need an adapter to make it work with the old PATA input.

Hey guys, I just installed windows 7 on my new laptop, and then bought an SSD.
So my question is do I have to reinstall windows 7 after I've installed the SSD, or can I just:
Turn off the laptop > swap hard disk with SSD > done? Ty for answer :-)

I want to buy a new laptop and immediately upgrade this to SSD. Do i have to first start up my laptop and deactivate some software or should i remove it before even turning on my laptop for the first time?
