About the "Considerable fans pushbacks against the game's blatant lack of diversity among its cast" on Final Fantasy.... there was no pushback from fans, it was the gaming media that invented that issue.

except the actual fans of FF and the ones actually looking forward to FFXVI, don't give a crap what skin colour the characters are as long as it's a good game, which it is very much shaping up to be. i don't get why some people think games have to tick certain boxes nowadays to get approved. devs can make whatever they want. it's fiction

I can guarantee you that FF fans, and likely fans of 3rd party action RPGs in general, are not upset in the least at a monochromatic Final Fantasy title.

Yeah, when it got to FF16 I was confused. I don't think anyone who intends to actually play the game cares about this. By this logic the Witcher 3 should have flo- oh wait, it's one of the most critically and financially successful RPGs of all time. Also if Yoshi P is in charge I'm buying.

final fantasy fans are not pissed off with ff16 you have your 1 odd really hardcore fan that its all turned based or its not ff but 99% of the ff fans love 16.nobody is complaining about the silent hill 2 remake and bloober team doing it.

As for the FF complaints, they seem ridiculous. There's a tabletop Roleplaying game called Legend of the Five Rings. It's set in a fantasy version of asia. There is no racial diversity in the game. The players characters are all asian samurai. You open the core rulebook and see white people, black people or Hispanic people that doesn't help sell the feudal asia setting to the players. I can see an argument similarly for the new Final Fantasy. Also point number 2, while there black people on medieval Europe, they were few and far between. Depending in the time and the specific locations they are using for inspiration, there may have literally been none there. It's no different than if there is a Marvel game set in Wakanda. I expect all of those characters to be black.

The FF 16 one is just too funny. It's made up. If that's why you don't play, then it's just a you issue. The problem is yours, not theirs.

Those that complain about ethnic diversity in games probably don’t play games.
I’m waiting to see what the SH2 remake looks like when it comes out. I have hope it’ll be good since the story is not being touched and the atmosphere looks good.
