Perfect Dark has such good franchise potential. 90's Electronic Dance Music, Joanna Dark, Elvis... Elvis. All the crazy weapons and tech. Why not roll up PD and Timesplitters and instead of Cortez make Joanna take lead.

The minute I saw "lack of creative autonomy" for PD's sequel, I lost faith that it's going to be any good. The 1st PD was so creative in comparison to it's spiritual predecessor that my skepticism about it being as good as Goldeneye was quickly overcome. The game still somewhat holds up in multiplayer, with more options in regards to bots than most modern shooters today. But without that creative autonomy for devs, I think this game is going to end up like PD Zero - billed as next-gen awesome, with the only redeeming quality being graphics.

The obvious problem with all of these (and more) is that these games are announced way too fucking early.
Maybe it wasn't as much of an issue back in the days where AAA games took maybe a couple years to make. But in an era where a game can be in Development Hell for 5-10 years, it might be a good idea that you shouldn't be so eager to make promises you can't keep?

I realized that I preordered vampire the masquerade bloodlines 2 over three years ago and cancelled my preorder over a year ago... There's actually less of a word on the release than it had when I cancelled my preorder. They're moving backwards.
