For me personally the game is not fun when I don't feel like a god, so I play on normal difficulty. I'm not very good at games but enjoy the gameplay and story so I enjoy feeling like a super powerful being running around smashing all the basic enemies, with a bit of extra challenge on the boss fights and late-game enemies. Feels like a good natural progression to me.

I enjoy playing from the normal difficulty to get used to the game and play several times until l can eventually beat the game on the hardest difficulty. But it wasn’t GoW 2018’s difficulty that turned me away, it just seemed so time consuming to clear rooms which lead me to feel more tired/bored after a fight rather than rewarded. Though, l don’t remember it being THIS long to kill one Draugr. This is so crazy

Actually I defeated baldur with GOW difficulty and it took me only three hours to defeat him 🙃
And the entire game took me more than a month to complete
And when I switched to easy mode I felt like I am the final boss to every living being I encountered

First time picking up a god of war game after seeing ragnarok I decided I was gonna play GoW but I didn’t wanna start with ragnarok so I start playing the 2018 GoW. I’ve played a lot of the souls games so I thought I’d kick it off on GMGOW difficulty and it’s been a rough ride so far but I’m pushing through. Definitely didn’t expect it to be this hard

There's definitely a point where you get geared enough and get a sense of the combat flow enough that GoW eventually becomes pretty easy and enjoyable too. But it takes a little warming up first.

I started the give me god of war difficulty and I erased my inventory and played from zero, it was a pain to be dying and dying but I kept determinated to win. Now I have the Zeus armor and the platinum trophie and I'm proud of it :) (it is my first platinum in a game btw)

I hate the high difficulties in games like this only because its just a test of patience at that point. Enemies that can one shot you where you have to wail at fhem for 5 minutes can just be kind of boring after a while. I start games on normal and maybe go to the next difficult up on my next playthrough.

On GMGOW difficulty it feels like enemies are just damage sponges. The new moves are a great addition but tbh it should be included in give me challenge mode too

No, this is the maximum difficulty with a new game + if you play without a new game + then the game is much easier

I essentially full cleared the game on gimme GoW, and I have to say, after the first about five hours, the game was really enjoyable for me. Just hitting that threshhold of getting used to new things and getting good enough gear/runics was so sattisfying. For me, most painful encounters were the first few where you dont get to use Atreus yet, so everything focuses on you.

First time playing GOW and started on GOD OF WAR difficulty, it's been hell of a ride tbh, after finally getting Mimir you start feeling more powerful, but before that, it's like boss encounter vs boss encounter

I remember that at the beginning of the game in give me God of War I died a lot, but no joke the enemies were level 7, but level 4 or something like that, they had abilities like the flaming sword and if I didn't hit them when they were about to transform there if it was already my death, the good thing is that after so many hours exploring midgard, buying red armor and killing almost everything I saw even the valkyries I was able to return all the humiliations that those draugr did to me
