While China has made significant strides in developing and investing in green energy, there are also several counterarguments that can be made against the notion that China has an advantage in this area:

1. Lack of transparency: China has a history of lack of transparency when it comes to environmental data and regulations, making it difficult to accurately assess their progress and potential impact on the environment.

2. Environmental degradation: Despite their investments in green energy, China still faces significant environmental degradation due to its heavy reliance on coal and other fossil fuels.

3. Technological limitations: While China has made investments in green energy technology, they still lag behind other countries in terms of research and development, and may not be able to maintain their advantage in the long-term.

4. Dependence on government subsidies: Much of China's progress in green energy is due to government subsidies, which may not be sustainable in the long-term.

5. Limited international cooperation: China's lack of cooperation with international organizations and other countries on environmental issues may limit their ability to effectively address global environmental challenges and take advantage of new developments in green energy.

Overall, while China has made progress in developing green energy, there are still significant challenges and limitations that must be overcome in order for them to maintain their advantage in this area.

Nice format.
Those arguing China will/has overtake US has the same vibes as Russias military is stronger than US (before Ukraine invasion happened)

for me the big problem in doing this kind of comparison videos is that they rely heavily in the numbers that china provides, which depending on who you ask they can tell you either that they are outright lying, or that they are skewing their data, and there aren't really other sources of information unlike the US, or any other country

China overtaking the US _would_ be a good thing _if_ China were a democratic, humans rights respecting country.
But it’s not. We also feared we’d be overtaken by Japan, but it was in a “oh no, our prestige!” sense, rather than a “We need to do something about this.” sense.

Honestly, none of these arguments are even slightly convincing:
1. Repeatedly, China has suffered both the consequences of its inaction and its eventual reaction. With COVID it suffered from lockdown, and now it's also suffering from the 180-degree turn on lockdown. And how can you compare their crackdown on Chinese tech firms, for the purpose of consolidating CCP control, to the US antitrust and misinformation discussions.
2. They assume the Green revolution will center solar, which has some of the worst applicability and ROI in the green space, compared to wind for example. Also, other countries are rapidly divesting from China's rare earths, with announcements of new sources being found and developed every other day (ie Sweden recently).
3. No one is going to be fooled by the sudden reversal of Wolf Warrior policy. Schulz was already a CCP apologist. The Netherlands and Japan just announced their joining the tech blockade. And countries are waking up to and cracking down on China's infiltration in their countries with Confucius Institutes and Fujian overseas polices stations. The ill will they've fomented over the last decade won't just be undone overnight.

The Chinese property bubble isn’t about high property prices. It’s about pre-sold but unbuilt homes, it’s about ghost cities. The property bubble is a deflationary banking/ government funding crisis on a level never seen before.

Based, putting 2 videos out covering situation from two angles is a good step forward

This was a poorly researched clickbait video. No hard numbers, only superficial and old arguments for Chinas rise. Completely ignoring the current "crisis" in Chinese economy, which by no mean over.
In short: While it is impossible to predict the world economies shape 30 years from now, any predictions about the rise of China made 5 years ago or older are for the trash can. The dramatic drop in birth rate (look up the numbers and their changes over the last 6 years and talk to a few Chinese women before you dismiss this) and Chinas economy hitting a structural glass ceiling (end of infrastructure investment as a driver, end of large scale cheap manufacturing) the cards get reshuffled.

I feel like they are capable of doing so but they keep getting in their own way. The one-child-policy by itself will have detrimental consequences to their economy in the coming decades.

Reasons, why it‘s impossible for China to become a superpower:

1. Demographics
2. Geography

🇪🇺: "we can integrate closely with Russia, it's okay, they're our partners and there's plenty of space for cooperation."
🇷🇺: *invades Ukraine, blackmails Europe with gas and threatens it with nukes*
🇪🇺: "maybe that was a mistake."

It's very simple. Whoever controls world trade controls the global economy. Whoever controls the Atlantic and Pacific oceans controls world trade. The US geopolitically will always have the upper hand, and their navy advantage is in the orders of magnitude and it takes several wars and generations to get a Navy as well trained as the US.

You guys should combine all of your channels into one. Having like 3 or 4 channels makes it hard to navigate your work

The biggest obstacle to China attaining superpower status is their fast-dwindling population. The next generation will have more pensioners and less workers. The following generation will be worse still. The knock-on effect this will have on production and economy will be enormous.

In 2010 a Mexican-American friend of mine was working for an American firm that was transferring solar panel tech in exchange for contracts within China. He said that there was little opportunity for the technology in the US at the time and this was the best opportunity that they had to get a return on their research. Similarly, I met people from Westinghouse then who were building nuclear plants with tech transfer as part of the agreement.

Fast forward 13 years later and China's long-term approach was smart. They have the tech AND the resources. The rest of the world will have Chinese-made in their green energy portfolios whether they like it or not. (At least for the foreseeable future). If the West (the US in particular) had been able to see the big business opportunity of green energy, instead of politicizing it, they might be in a stronger position right now.

Three reasons. 1 Solar. 2 Windpower. 3 EV Cars and Batteries.
