A recurring geopolitical question is whether China will surpass the U.S. as the world's dominant superpower. In this video, we explain why the strength of the dollar and China's economic and demographic crises will keep America in the Number 1 spot.

TLDR News be like "I'm playing both sides, so that I always come out on top."

Glad to see that you will keep making US content. I really liked this channel during the last election and was afraid of loosing this kind content for the next election.

Another thing that i think is more significant is that despite making enemies out of them, rising powers like India and Vietnam are more willing to accept a democratic USA over an autocratic China as the pre-eminent superpower. Africa is also already beginning to look at china less favourably after it's debt trap diplomacy.

I studied abroad for 1 year in China during the Hu era. Even as a teenager, I was so shocked. Nothing about their escalating problems surprises me. I'm not an American, but I'd rather be friends with America any time.

I think you guys are missing the point. US hegemony isn't about wealth or military might or demographics. When it comes down to it, the Americans have made friends all over the world, even from people who were enemies. Russia and China have never had friends. They both have a cultural identity that revolves around looking down on others. India is the world's next superpower, long before Cina.

A fourth point: over the past 40 years, China absolutely wrecked their environment. Much of the nation is at risk of acute water shortage, and the farmlands that are still productive can not come close to meeting domestic food needs.

Same happened with Japan. They were going to be the biggest economy by 2000s but they never get there.

The rise of China is horrible for the entirety of the world. A successful autocratic state will lead to more countries being autocratic and less being democratic. Also, China refuses to accept decisions of international bodies such as the decision to reject the 9 dash line. Allowing the rise of China also rewards their human rights violations with the uighurs and their expansionist tendencies with Hong Kong and soon Taiwan. They are a country that has engaged in wolf warrior diplomacy and economically sanctioned countries such as Australia for simply questioning China. Thankfully, it seems like China will be a failed state soon as their demographics are in free fall.

>china's economic woes
china's [self-inflicted] economic woes.
replacing pooh bear with someone with a clue would be a good start.

I think one thing holding them back is culturally influence. They have failed in the regard compared to the US, South Korea, Japan
Just media being shared around the world.

Also: China depends on oil imports while the US doesnt't.

This is a very clever way to make an announcement like this - Make a video on the more promoted (by the algorithm) channel that delegates you to the second video with the actual announcement.
All of this without disrupting the content. Probably the best way of handling the announcement.

One of things people never speak of is the incredible land of diversity that brings in talent from the entire world.

Tesla - serbian American
Einstein - german Americans
Musk - south Africa American and so on and on.

When you think of a country like china…. Its all chinese. Whereas the usa all the best ideas and talent are pitted against each other.

the best is invested in one place. Just look at the government, every single person descendent is from somewhere else. And look at the chinese, russia….. and so on. Its impossible to compete on that level.

I don’t think you should close this channel. It will turn TLDR Global into TLDR US under a different name :(
