Table saws injure 60,000 people every year. The intent of the videos in my table saw series is to educate you on the use of this power tool. In this video, I am going to explain the purpose of the push stick and push block. Using these tools properly can make the operation of a table saw safer for the user. Table saw safety is crucial in preventing accidents and injuries, so it's important to understand the pros and cons of each tool. Push sticks are commonly used for narrow or smaller pieces of wood, allowing for better control and precision. Push blocks, on the other hand, provide a wider surface area for added stability and are great for larger pieces of wood.

The screws I see on the base used to attach the handle on your push block are a big hazard as they can make contact with the blade.

I totally get what you're saying, but my concern is you have to remove the blade guard to use a push block. Or am I wrong on that? I literally just bought a table saw and am trying to be as safe as possible. I'm trying to make the safest choice here.
