At 150 pounds, the alligator snapping turtle is a formidable presence in the waters of the bayou. But its hunting style relies on ambush, not intimidation - all with the help of a curious worm-like appendage in its mouth.

What's the most amazing about this is not only how fast the turtle is, but how fast the fish was! It had actually TURNED itself around to escape before the jaws closed. Amazing!

I've mastered the ability of standing so incredibly still that I become invisible to the eye. Watch.

What a simple fulfilling life, just chillin in the water. It’s kinda comforting. In the midst of this crazy world, there’s a turtle living the simple life of a sea rock and has everything it needs, food, water. Probably lives for hundreds of years too

I was shocked when I saw one swim under a dock I was standing on. He was bigger than I would ever have imagined. He really did look prehistoric.

The way his bottom jaw opens so slowly and without any other muscle moving is pretty badass
