Happy Apple have decided to realize that people need repairs. I do fully support them with the messages for aftermarket screens as this will help the consumer get a better deal on a phone that has been repaired before with aftermarket parts and one with original parts.

The funny this is, my XS had minor water damage and lost my true tone while servicing it, while all the components are the original just got it back with 18.1

It is really game changing, making repairs faster. To be honest I am still writing truetone, god knows what will apple make on us😂..
Probably best feature is having battery health on non genuine batteries, I love that so much

i replaced my own screen and battery and i would say that i did a good job as a 13 year olds third time repairing an electronic. also my screen replacement still has truetone just not automatic brightness in ios 18.1

Auto brightness still does work correctly. You have to toggle the switch under direct sunlight to get it to truly auto brighten. Otherwise if you don’t toggle it, it wouldn’t really work

I have gotten my iphone 11pro screen replaced 3 months ago which was after market.And obviously the true tone had gone until the ios 18.1 update
Now my phone has true tone.Apple is now turning to repairebility more👍
