I hate to be Captain Obvious, but the reason why prices of used cars increased, is simple - new cars are overpriced (Stelantis profit decreased almost 60% from last year). Interest rates are high. Inflation still bites. So people hold on to their cars longer, and replace them when truly necessary - and often by buying used cars that are cheaper than new cars.
So this will continue until the big 3 will actually start looking at what people want to buy vs what they want to sell them.
It is sad that common sense is so hard to find these days...

Amazing how things change so quickly. Beware if your trade in has had minor yet fully repaired damage -our Portland OR area car dealers will slash values by 25 % or more.
