Many of us have been seeing this coming for a while when farmers were paid to burn their crops.

Seems just like yesterday when you two thought inflation was no big deal.

As a rancher, it hurts to see the price of beef in the grocery store and know we don't make a fraction of that.

Did Saagar really say that food should not be a market??!! As we all know, if food was not a market we would all be starving.

Gotta love cost of living raises being completely negated by increased food costs

How many times have you shifted the goalposts on this issue? We went from "It's not happening" to "It's temporary" to you "Ok, it's definitely happening and here to stay but I question if you actually care about it"... You guys accuse others of being ideologically tied to the concept of inflation yet have been trying to explain away the obvious due to your own ideological belief in infinite money printing. More money in the marketplace creates more demand compounded by the fact that we can't supply enough goods to meet that demand. This isn't hard to understand. You don't have to be an lolbertarian to believe any of this. Spending simply needs to be funded by raising revenues, from the wealthy or otherwise.

Support local food supply! Ever since reading The Omnivore's Dilemma I've been obsessed with this stuff.

It looks like Saagar is finally in the process of moving on from Denial and on to Anger... only 3 more stages to go to get to Acceptance.

Inflation gaslighting is the largest blindspot of this channel.

It just make me so uncomfortable when Saagar say that food should not be a commodity. The food industry is probably one of the most remarkable examples of capitalist successes against command economy. It honestly works wonders to provide for the diverse dietary choices we have. And the US of today actually have a very low food priced relative to income. And its not like we could just produce coffee here in the US anyways so if you are not willing to deal with international food commodity trade then you don't get to drink coffee. The Chinese similarly depends heavily on the US for food. If you think this is bad then you can have the Chinese not having pork, the Americans having no Coffee and the Brazilians going bankrupt.

Government prints 36% more money.
Government on inflation: it’s the supply chain.
Sagar: it’s Globalization.

Not true that government spending doesn’t impact inflation. Utter nonsense. You two have been off base more and more lately.

I would make one correction Europe depends allot on Russian natural gas, you can draw line from German boarder with France and majority countries east of it depend on Russian gas, also allot of coal extraction comes from Russia and Eastern Europe countries but allot of EU regulations limit extraction, Poland and Germany are one of the biggest coal producers

Excessive government spending doesn't result in inflation? Um... what?

Inflation is how wealth is extracted from the public, it doesn't affect the rich. And don't forget "shrinkflation" where prices stay the same but the products reduce in size.
