Krystal and Saagar give an update on coronavirus case numbers, food prices see an overall increase by 2.6% in April, led by a 4.3% among meat fish and eggs; “Fox & Friends” co-host Brian Kilmeade says, "I haven't met any of those people," about the 69% of people who don't want to reopen the economy. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell says support through government spending and tax policies are needed for a strong economic recovery.

These grocery increases feel like price gouging to me.

Saagar did his homework on restaurants and profit margins. They have some of the tightest margins of any industry which is why turnover is so high. Its going to be sad to see so many local eateries go out of business and never return.

Well that's exactly the point-- At the very end of this clip, Saagar says that we will not live in the same country unless government backstops wages... Well Corporate America does not want America to go back to what is was before. The long play is to let as many small businesses as possible fail so that they have a bigger market share 12-18 months from now (think Chili's vs. your local diner or SuperCuts/Great Clips vs. your local barber shop). This is Disaster Capitalism at work-- it is an intentional policy set with specific outcomes in mind (and a gigantic assault on the working class, who don't even rate as human in their calculations).

This system is built on its ability to say, 'come back now, or never come back. We can always find someone else to do your job.'

I haven't talked to those people that want to quarantine. Really? Where would you have spoken to them, they are in quarantine. Duh!
The only reason why anyone wants to reopen, besides their hair, is because we aren't getting relief the way the REST OF THE WORLD is doing for their people. That and those who can't stand their families. That's about it.

my work place had it's first case confirmed yesterday. many people from one shift are on quarantine now. however it is manufacturing and everyone shares a work area there are 2 air locks everyone is funneled through AFTER we are all funneled through a pair locker rooms (men/women) that lead into a long hallway. they have put bleach, hand sanitizer, and masks all over the place, but we are all still passing through the same areas repeatedly throughout the shift. realistically if one person in manufacturing is exposed then all of us are. i am waiting for the next wave to hit and for a lot more people to get sick.

I don't agree with what you are saying. I don't know anyone who doesn't want the country to get on with living. What are we suppose to do, hide in our houses forever until our immune systems are completely wiped out and the country has completely collapsed?

Bars are going to suffer badly as well. People will not want to go to a bar and especially will not want to go to night club if you have to stay 6 feet apart. In a bar with loud music you will not be able to socialize and have conversations without screaming at each other. Dance bars will be pointless as well . Dancing with someone while you are 6 feet apart in pretty pointless going to the club to meet new people will be virtually impossible . Many bars and clubs will go under.

We need a Federal jobs guarantee for sustainable agriculture via community gardens.

Wrong. A spike in food prices should NOT be expected. With many restaurants closed, there is extra supply for grocers. Farmers are dumping their own produce because of a lack of buyers. Grocers are increasing prices because they _can_ not because they _must._ They were allowed a little bit of gouging room and they're taking it.

Georgia's numbers are going down slightly every day so I would say going back to work doesn't seem to be hurting them

I haven't heard a single person anywhere say that their afraid to open to soon, not one. Everything in my town has reopened as of yesterday. Hoping that the government will bail you out is a pipe dream, unless you have registered as a lobbyist in the past few days.

I love you guys. You are both such a breath of fresh air and what I most like is the partisanship takes a back seat to honest assessment and both of you can laugh at the situation. Neither one of you take yourselves too seriously.
In the debate on opening the economy I have to disagree. Do you notice that people who are not in any danger of losing their paychecks are the ones pushing the don't open the economy yet narrative? And that includes you all. I don't know anyone who has the virus or who has died from it. How many people are there like me who don't live in the new york neighborhoods. Actually there is a whole underground economy that has not stopped working from day one. The reasons the polls are low for Georgia and Texas is because the media is peddling fear and more fear to a country whose population has increasingly stopped thinking for themselves. I still love you guys

Nonsense, with thousands of closed restaurants, the demand and usage of meat are way down so the prices should be going down not up.
