This past year surely has changed me. Before it was almost a challenge to get myself ouside. Now it's basically lost time not doing it... I've always been outside for years. What happened to me?
Today there's a dam down here. On old maps from the early 1800s you still see the old mills. They all had their own names, their own stories. This one was the Schlotein Mill. Let us take a walk down to where she actually stood... we even have a photograph of the last family who owned it... crazy...
While walking I asked myself this one question... what would you rather have? A life at a place you're okay with but not really thrilled to get out of bed, but also knowing you can have it forever? Or a life at a place you'd call paradise... but never knowing when that tragic day comes that you get a letter that informs you about the dam they are building... and you're going to have to leave soon...
You can now dive down to the mill. It's so absurd... and I actually had the audacity to not want to go outside for years...
At least one thing is clear. I hope I'll never have to answer that question. I really don't know where I would want to live at. Knowing I'd have to leave this paradise one day would haunt me, but living a life I simply don't enjoy would kill me...
Oh, well... I will just go outside now. I will just walk these paths now. I will just smell the breeze through the branches, listen to the wind, feel the dirt beneath my feet now... I will do all that I really can decide to do... I will stay just a walker...
