The sweet danger of sugar

5 grams of circulating glucose vs 10 grams (not total per day). I'm showing sucrose (which is 50% glucose / 50% fructose) because I didn't have pure glucose. I used the term neurotoxin colloquially / incorrectly in relation to nerve damage caused by. diabetic neuropathy.

The problem with the "fake boogeyman" of white sugar is people often swap it out for honey, evaporated cane sugar, or some other sweetener that has a similar or stronger spike effect on your blood glucose. The poison is in the dose, glycemic load should be the first-order concern.

Your body and brain thrive on glucose, but the delicate balance of “just right” and “too much” has a very small margin for error.

Is white sugar, white four, and white rice the problem? Are natural sugars the solutions? The answer to both is “no”. Your body has a very limited capacity to store glucose in your liver and muscle, and only about 5 grams circulating at any time. Excess glucose, whether from cake or 7-grain bread, creates the same issues. The poison is in the dose, glycemic load should be the first-order concern.

The way he explains the difference is like when I open WebMD and say I have a cough then find out I'm dying in 2 hours

Toxicology 101.
Everything is toxic, but the toxicity is in the dose.
Even water has a toxic dose (and it's nothing to do with drowning).

Eating sugar just makes me crave more. No sugar or carbs for 2 months and feel great.

Entire generations of my people in Northern South East Asia consumes kgs of rice twice a day. But they had no problem like diabetes this or that. Their routine was very strenuous activities throughout the day, with manual farming, wood chopping, carpentry, metal forging, blacksmith jobs all done manually using hands. They never suffered any chronic disease dueto lifestyle issue in their lives as far as the stories go. All of them lived over 80.

Glucose is feared today because that lifestyle has changed to ease and comfort. I train twice a day vigorously in Muay Thai and Thang Ta. I consume rice mainly with fish and vegetables. I dont have any health issues or any problem with my body weight, strength or composition.

The problem is that small amounts tend to lead to large amounts because sugar is highly addictive. It is like trying to only smoke 3 cigarettes a day.

why only the half part is mentioned? Sucrose is 50/50 glucose and fructose. Glucose is absorbed from all cells in the body while fructose is metabolized locally to the liver kicking the metabolic syndrome. So glucose is not the bad guy here....

'yum- yong', or yin yang. Balance.
A balance of 3 -
physical activity,
nutricious food,
sufficient sleep.

No extremes, no unbalance.
No unbalance, no dis-ease.

Calling glucose a neurotoxin is like calling oxygen a neurotoxin.

I'm 26 now and found out the hard way. Black spots in my vision. Circulation problems due to blood vessel damage. And much more. Fasting helps my body with damage control by autophagy. Hopefully it'll reverse some of the damage that has been done.

It's also that white sugar is highly processed and stripped of the many other nutrients that sugars have in their unprocessed form. It's also that we eat too often and don't fast as often as we probably should

That is exactly right. That is what everyone needs to understand, it's all about the dose. Thank you for sharing 👍

I like how you mentioned specifically how much sugar one person should be having, the different types of sugar, as well as how 90% of the illnesses you mentioned can be dealt with moderation….🙂
