Impressed by Arc's RT performance. Good job Intel.

You are the only channel that is covering ray tracing performance at so much depth and detail as also for GPUs from all available manufacturers. Kudos to you and keep up the good work.

Amazing work! I've been looking for this type of RT analysis for a while. Immediately subscribed!

it's amazing that intel rt can keep up with Nvidia on their first gen rt cores. while amd is still struggling with their rdna3. im wondering what intel might do with their next gen gpus. keep it up intel!

This level of editing deserves a bigger audience

Portal RTX doesn't count since it uses RTX Remix, which has crazy issues on any card that isn't nvidia (no surprise, it's by nvidia)

You are correct in thinking that the Quake 2 result are surprising, the issue is that the default ray tracing api option affects intel arc quite badly and switching to khr_ray_querry offers much much better numbers however as of version 1.6 that option is glitched on arc. In order to get khr_ray_query to work withought visual glitches on intel arc you need to go to steam game properties select the beta menu and switch back to 1.5.

Edit: khr_ray_query works correctly in 1.6 with the latest drivers

I can only see that the ray traced images increased the reflectivity of the floor, while the non-RT have the reflectivity more subtle and subdued.

What would happen if the reflectivity is increased in non-RT setting?

Great content, thanks!. I'd love to see RDNA3 in here. They've really changed how things work. All dedicated hardware now similar to Nvidia.

3060ti vs a770 vs 6700xt in Fortnite UE 5.1. Would be interesting to see how well lumen, nanite and HW RT perform among those three cards. A sneak peek in what to expect from the next generation of graphical performance on mainstream users' hardware.

Not sure if you know, but NVIDIA hardware is actually used to ray trace movies and architectural visualization. NVIDIA also bought Mental Ray long time ago, they were first to introduce OptiX, a ray tracing framework. Yes, "we" know for a fact NVIDIA hardware is better suited for ray tracing. AMD prefers to create cheaper GPUs, with less specialized hardware. Their market are users that want something cheaper and faster in rasterization. They introduce RT slower, since it would look bad as perf per $ on the charts, since not all games are using RT. Their implementation is clearly inferior, they know it, and they are fine with it, as their users. It was interesting to see that Intel actually took RT seriously, however they need another generation to be competative. Today is no brainer - if you like RT, NVIDIA is the way to go. However, next generation, Intel can surprise us...

radeon driver version is wrong, copy pasted from nvidia one

intel optimised RT calculation pipeline so rt does not have so big impact in framerates and i love my arc🤩in my country a770 le is the cheapest of these 3 cards and have a better value for me because AI computing is the best of these 3 GC and also 16gb vram is also good benefit in 1440p or even 1080p sometimes
