Treatment Cost of PRP Injection & Stem Cell Therapy

How much do PRP injections and stem cell therapy cost in the United States? According to this paper published in early 2020, the mean cost of a PRP injection was $707 while the mean cost of a stem cell injection was $2728. I’m going to review the variables that affect cost of treatment, but if you’re just thinking about price, you may be looking at the wrong thing. The more important takeaway from this video is how to pick a provider who will deliver you the best outcomes regardless of the price.

► Things my patients have found helpful:
Please note that I get a lot of requests and questions about what equipment is ‘best’ for treating a variety of conditions. The following is not meant to be an exhaustive or definitive list. Please use it as a starting point. If you have questions, please discuss with your healthcare provider. With that said, I have tried a number of the products below, but not all. I have included some based on positive feedback from many of my patients. As an Amazon Associate, Dr Peng earns from qualifying purchases. I'm in Texas and I paid $600 for a single PRP in my knee for Grade 4 Chondromalacia of the knee. Best thing I have ever done. After 9 months it is wearing off so I will be doing it soon again. It works for this problem - no pain whatsoever. I have a PRP in my back disc scheduled soon and I was quoted $500 per PRP injection (3 total) so $1500 total.

Wow! I feel like I've paid a lot. When I was 60, I paid $8800 for stem cell (from my own bone marrow) injections for both knees. I did get results in about 5 months and it lasted for 3-1/2 years. Then the pain returned in both knees which are bone on bone. I returned to the same doctor (in Huntsville AL) at age 64 and had PRP injections to both knees in mid July of this year. Cost was $1900 for both knees. I am now starting to feel some relief, at 5 months out, but am not as hopeful since my left knee now has a torn meniscus, torn ACL, bone spurs, no cartilage and bone on bone. My left knee also will no longer bend past 90 degrees. I had an xray and MRI but no one has given me an answer as to what's causing that. Physical therapy has not helped either. Anyway, I just keep being told that knee replacement is my only option. I would love your opinion Dr. Peng.

Just had both knees PRP and do to your videos I was much more informed and I requested 60 ML of Blood taken and received about 10ML to 15ML in each knee. But it was land based injection, even I asked for ultrasound to do for the injection. The Dr said she has been doing this for years and the amount of PRP I got would work it's way around the inside of my knee....3 weeks later I do feel better and I paid $700 for both knees.

Glad I found you Doc. 2 weeks ago this happened...1. Small focal full-thickness partial width tear of the anteriormost fibers of the distal supraspinatus tendon, with 2 cm retraction but no significant muscle atrophy
2. Moderate subacromial subdeltoid bursitis
3. Moderate osteoarthritis of the acromioclavicular joint, with extensive marrow edema in the distal clavicle and acromion-potentially secondary to
the osteoarthritis, chronic repetitive microtrauma, or acute contusion 4. Mild grade 1 strain of the anterior belly of the deltoid muscle
5. Thickening and irregularity of the acromioclavicular joint capsule ligaments, potentially reflecting chronic scarring, though component of a mild acromioclavicular separation cannot be excluded and clinical correlation is needed
6. Partial tearing of the intra-articular segment of the long head of the biceps tendon
7. Mild osteoarthritis of the glenohumeral joint
8. Chronic fraying and irregularity of the labrum, without evidence of acute- appearing labral tear.
Met with an ortho my doc. recommended. Talked about surgery and PRP and Stem cells. Do I have to do surgery? Would PRP and Stem cell only fix it? Love your stuff!

I am so grateful for your information and wish I had seen your videos before visiting 3 ortho docs in Phoenix area. I was super excited to find one doc that does PRP with guided ultra sound and at the time I did not know to ask how much blood is drawn but manage to call back and asked how much would be drawn and they told me 20cc. My search continues to find some one that meets all of your recommendations. It has so far cost me about $ 400 out of pocket to go for this information. Is there anyone in Phoenix area or Chicago area that provide this information before you get the treatment? You are transparent and I would go to you or any one like you. Well if anyone out there has found a Jeffrey Peng in the Phoenix area or Chicago please share.

Hello Dr Peng, how do I get ahold of you to look at prp treatment? The only contact option for a new patient on your site is to book an appointment, and it won't let me do that. I would like to know what is involved in getting prp treatment for sciatica, and next steps.
