The Ordinary Comparison Test lets us conclude that an infinite series of positive terms is convergent if we can show that the terms are smaller than the corresponding terms of another series which converges.

Conversely, The OCT also lets us conclude that the series diverges if we can show that the terms are bigger than the corresponding terms of another series which diverges to infinity.
