I think my fear of flying was derived from my childhood when I used to watch all these plane crash investigations and top ten worst plane crashes on TV. The TV influenced how I thought of planes as a child and still up to today. What should I do about that as I feel this does not fit in any of the categories put forward?

I have just discovered your videos and find them very helpful. We are planning a flight from Australia to Thailand soon and my wife has a fear of flying. We have exit seats for more leg room and she is worried the door may burst open during flight and she will be sucked out or some drunk or deranged person may try to open it mid-flight. Sadly there have been some reports of this happening in the news where people have tried to open the door mid-flight and have been tackled and restrained by other passengers.

Great video, I am not actually "scared" of flying, but i think about it a lot and i worry a lot. I do agree Airplanes are generally for the most part SAFE. and airplane crashes are very rare but isn't that what the people on the recent Lion air crash thought too? or the Air France 447 crash? In 2018 there have been numerous fatal crashes.
What I mean is--All it takes is one wrong ill-fated flight. It is after all just mechanics and mistakes do happen. This wont stop me from flying tho because I love travelling around the world and there is no other way to do that besides flying.
But I still worry :(

Im terrified of ‘what might happen’ so am tense, then when theres turbulence i see all the plane crash movies in my mind & terrify myself, then feel glad i made it to land & dont wanna put myself in that position again. Other people have just taken it all in their stride lol

I will never set foot on a plane ever again...I wont even go on a plane on the ground at a museum...e.g. Concorde. I tried a fear of flying course and that just made things a whole lot worse. I now can't even go to the airport to drop off or pick up people. Just thinking about it whist typing is making me feel ill. My father lost some good friends in a plane crash, so anyone who says the chance of a plane crashing is very unlikely is a liar.
