ironic that the man in the movie is the only one taking the topic of DV seriously while all the women want it to be a cute romcom. so bizzare…

It seems Justin understands the gravity of the story better than collen to be honest, it does not surprise me if she doesn't like how critical of his character his is.

Justin is taking the movie seriously like its an indy sundance movie and everyone else wants to Hollywoodify it to be some blockbuster

It doesn't surprise me that Colleen is taking the side of the cast that's marketing it as a romcom. Colleen's books have never been critiques on the dark subjects they're about; they are *romanticizations of abuse. period.*

As much as I love Blake and Ryan together like MUCH,
They really do not need to be so involved in each other’s projects.
This story is to be heartbreaking and traumatizing; why is Wolverine and Deadpool there?
And Ryan rewriting the roof scene?
I’m so confused.
Justin seems to be the only cast member/producer who wanted to stay true to the story.

Im on Justine’s side cus why did her husband have a say In the script it’s his movie… Also it’s disappointing to see how Blake has been promoting this movie 🙁

I thought it was a romantic comedy until I saw Justin’s interview about “stop asking why they don’t leave.” I ended up having to google the real topic of the book because I was so confused and was surprised because the promotions I’ve been seeing are the complete opposite.

Why are people surprised the movie is being portrayed as a romantic movie? Coleen Hoover literally glamorizes DV and toxic relationships!

Wearing Britney’s dress to a red carpet about DV was a CHOICE 👀 and insensitive to Brit IMO

sooo tone deaf that two famous men ryan & hugh took over the red carpet pics promoting a movie about DV towards women

I think Justin read the book and understood the assignment but Blake didn’t bother to read the book and thought the whole time it was a romcom.

It’s definitely creative differences. Since Blake clearly has a lot of connections, she was going to get the last say with any decision. Justin has and will always stay true to being respectful of everyone around him, and I believe he did a really good job of showing his support for women and victims of DV. I feel like Justin (as many of us) are disappointed with how the movie is portrayed in the ads, but I see him stepping down to still hope the clear message is heard. ❤ team Justin
EDIT: There’s bts videos coming out clearly showing the tension between Blake and Justin on set . She was trying to direct the Director (Justin) and he walks away while she stands giggling with the author and a team member.

Blake is giving off mean girl energy. Everyone knows how well connected she is because of how much she and Ryan LOOOVE to name drop.
It’s obvious most of the cast and the writter of the book are going to side with her. Ryan is a force in the marketing business. If Blake is happy, her husband is happy and they get all the support and money.

As a DV survivor, it makes me sick that they are trying to romanticize it. Being belittled and beaten isn’t romantic. It’s terrifying and hopeless. Justin’s the only one who seems to understand that

As a dv survivor seeing this is extremely upsetting. There is little progression in this world and it’s so sad to see.

There’s something genuinely unsettling about Ryan Reynolds. He seems like an asshole who masquerades as a like a sarcastic witty person. Blake is your classic TV actress who wants to be seen as a main lead movie star but she doesn’t have the depth or range and you can see this in the way she’s promoting this movie. So she pulled her big name husband who has a Disney contract and big name in Hollywood against Justin. I feel bad for Justin as you can tell this was a project that he was excited to be working on and he was completely hijacked

I don’t like that Ryan Reynolds tried to make this like Barbie & Oppenheimer with Deadpool. He seems super tone deaf in this instance, and like he and Blake were trying to make the max amount of money rather than take this seriously.

I wonder if Justin disagrees with the marketing. It is very strange.
