The most basic kind of claim we can make is called in logic a "categorical proposition." When we make such a claim, we place a certain subject under a certain category: so we might say, "that car is red." In Aristotle's view, there are precisely four kinds of categorical propositions, each statable in what is called "standard form." Here we learn about all four kinds.
