It was difficult to see Eddie Redmayne as the Emcee and not compare it to Cumming's interpretation. Both shows have different takes on the utility of the character, but I just vibe so much more with Cumming's instincts on how to pitch the eccentricity, the accent, the flamboyance and the underlying menace. Hard to top this performance.

i'd like it to be remembered that this was 21 years after initially taking the roll. lmao. man turns 60 next month and has been especially known for this role for over half of his life. truly the emcee of all time.

Joel Grey was terrific, but Alan is just pure magic as the emcee, totally unique---no one else can do it as he does. I have watched the various of videos of his performance dozens of times.
