First thing is to switch off XMP . THIS may be due to the fact that failure of Ryzen platforms to support high ram.speeds. I solved Bsod by reducing ram speed to a stable vale.

most often the motherboard doesn't supply enough voltage to the dram. a step or two increase to the dram voltage usually fixes problems like this on new hardware.

when I was building my pc in august(r5 3600 and b350 pc mate) it wasnt working and I had to update the bios which I thought would fix it not booting. So I ordered a new motherboard and a ryzen 5 1400 from amazon. popped the 1400 in and it booted up no problem just enough for me to update my bios. I returned both the parts no questions asked. in short amazon is ur best friend or just have a friend that has a pc on the same platform.

I bought a new HP Zbook Studio G8 this error happened within the first 2 days after I got it. I'm sending it back to HP this week, So they can replace the motherboard. HP support person confirm It was the motherboard after they run some internal tests.

I have a bad cpu I'm sure of it.

I9 9700k that can't over clock beyond 4.8ghz at 1.35v...

Cpu stays cool though 30-33c idle, 45-55 depending on game

could also be a bad copy of windows on your thumbdrive

One thing to add here:
The 5000-series from AMD have had alot of problems with WHEA errors, mostly when going above 3200MT/s memory (so above the official spec), although some are having trouble even at base memory clocks. It seems that AMD are messing with the AGESA a bit much atm and the motherboard makers have had a bit of a hard time getting it 100% right. For many on the forums I visit it depends on the bios version if a memory config works or not atm, what works in a beta bios might not work in the final release. So if you have trouble with a system with a 5000-series CPU it´s worth trying a different bios.

I had a similar experience recently and against all odds it turned out to be the CPU. I’ve been building PCs and been in IT for almost 20 years and I have never had a CPU go bad on me or been bad from the factory. But it can happen...

I hope that person found out what's causing the problem and was able to fix it.

Had the same issue and it was the BIOS version. Many People on ryzen 5000 do have that issue currently because of bad, rushed out BIOS versions.

I had a ryzen 7 3700x that only booted with a single stick of ram, I reinstalled my 2700x and ram worked fine with both dual channel. It's always good to have spare parts especially if you are gonna upgrade because you never know if the one you bought is faulty or not.

I've Always found it to be some kind of OC issue on the cpu or ram. Or Ram just need moved or reseated.

1. Re-seat CPU, RAM, if possible don't put the GPU back in just yet.
2. Reset BIOS to default settings and then flash your BIOS to the latest version available.
3. Reset GPU to stock settings from the driver and disable MSI Afterburner etc.
4. Check all hardware for errors. Prime95, Memtest86+, GPU RAM test, check HDD/SSD.
5. Run OCCT or another program that you like and check for stability and see if your PC will pass the test.
6. Use HWInfo64 and while doing the 4 & 5 from above, check your temps, anything that doesn't seem normal (voltage, power usage).

Personally, I encountered this issue while overclocking my CPU and the voltage would be too low. The OS would return this error during Prime95 100%. As soon as the voltage would be enough to meet the CPU's requirements, the error would stop too.

MPG Z490M GAMING EDGE WIFI (MS-7C76)
INTEL i9-10900KF CPU @ 3.70GHz
64GB DDR4 3200MHz
3070 GEFORCE RTX
P750GM GIGABYTE PSU

Windows keeps crashing (at any load, sometimes at bootup right after login)
BSOD "WHEA..." Reboots into Bios and lists M.2 DRIVE as "NOT PRESENT"

Updated Windows. still crashes.
Updated drivers. still crashes.
Disabled OC profiles. still crashes.
Tried a different M.2 drive. still crashes.
Tried different slots. still crashes.
Re-flashed Bios with the latest version from MSI 02/04/2021. still crashes.

No issues if I run Windows from a 7200RPM Disk Drive though!!!
Why will it run fine from a Hard-drive but not the M.2? (Bios is set to AHCI)

Can't be PSU because M.2 draws less power than the Hard-drive, correct?
Faulty Motherboard? 😭

With the ryzen 5000 series the whea errors are most probably caused by a hardware or bios bug related to the cpu. No amount of tweaking in the bios or memory can solve it. For me and many others only an rma solved it.
And I've spent months tinkering in the bios settings. The 5000 series seems to have manufacturing defects or the bios is simply not ready yet.

This happened to me when trying to play a MJPEG video in Windows Media Player. Can someone tell me how a video can blue screen a PC?
