Recently found that if you build 10 blocks below the loot box and stay there, the mobs will spawn faster and go back up and get xp faster

yes, it works very well I gained 13 level in 15 minutes. But I changed something 1) use leaves instead of slabs at the top 2) made walls 4 blocks high instead of 3 3) make an afk area 10 blocks below where you kill the mobs.

this works however when you build this in survival i highly recommend bringing another water bucket and placing it at the top so if you fall you don’t struggle to get back up

if anyone is having problems with spawn rates in survival make sure to go down 20 blocks and build another platform, after that wait a little and spawn rates work perfectly, this is in bedrock, if youi dont go down 20 blocks your spawn rates will reach only 2 spawns per minute

Thank you, I have not made a standard mob farm since version 0.0, so I knew I was missing something, the trap-doors are a new one to me, but this design works a treat, thank you 😀

Thanks man, I have been looking for a mob grinder that I can build for ages now, Than I stumbled upon your tutorial and it was perfect.

On the ocean it didn't work when I had tried it, but tried it again basically in my base, dug a ladder 10 spaces deep for a secondary fishing room and it works decently well. I had to make it so that the "platform" you stand on was a closed room with like no light in it, cause otherwise it wasn't worth shit. The base design by itself doesn't seem to work on 1.20 bedrock without further modifications (removal of light from where the mobs normally land, and being 10+ blocks below the platform).

I can confirm that this still works. I've just built it - although I made the "black chamber" 4 blocks high instead of three - and I built small platform 10 blocks below the chest to wait for spawns. In about 3 minutes the kill chamber fills up and I get easy XP.
It's a great non-spawner build, and honestly it can last for a long time. By the way, I've built it on a river and it works the same way (if I afk on the platform). I didn't know that river biomes could be a complication for the build, I only read about it later; but it's been no problem for me.

Tips for building this farm:
1) Make sure you are building this in the ocean biome, and there is no land in a 64 block range, (also you can try decreasing render distance for better results)
Edit: avoid building this in a cold ocean biome, build it in a warm or a lukewarm ocean biome for better rates
2) Make the farm's wall 4 block high
3) Use torches instead of slabs
4) the farm may get clogged up with spiders, you can search up for the spider spawn proofing pattern, and use it in the farm (the farm then will spawn only zombies, skeleton, creepers, and witches)
5) if mobs start spawning very slow you can jump into the water and climb back up the ladder, (im not sure if this will help but worth a try)

anyways, im happy if this helps lol, also pin pls.

it worked great, made a 2nd identical mob spawn floor below the standart one and mobs fill the hole in 2 minutes. its great for early game

This is really good, lots of xp and loot. Simple and straight to the point, easy to follow tutorial. Well done, this is great

You can also lower your render distance to increase spawn chance by the way

Thank you so much bro! I recently lost my xp 30 because of the piglins (i even died with enchanted diamond armor w/ prot 1) and this helped me out to get enchants and sometimes useful to get iron because im broke and i dont have any hopper 🙃

So a couple (about gazillion) deaths later, I finally built the farm and honestly it works like a charm. Would recommend to build for quick xp. I used all the tips as well such as 4 blocks high, torch on top and waiting 10 blocks below the chest and afk there. However, I also seem to be getting endermen, which is quite the blessing in disguise as I’m getting ender pearls as well. But they don’t spawn as often. Really great farm overall.

2:21 Is anyone able to tell me why the 4 blocks get broken at each side to leave the 4 floating blocks? like, what is the reason for telling us to go up 23 layers of blocks, then remove 2 layers? i watched a java version and they don't do the floating blocks but the walls around the 8x2 lanes all seem to end up the same regardless, unless i'm missing something i can't see?

Thx I don’t have to worry abt cp anymore this really helped and 20 blocks down makes them spawn faster

I've build it today and it works quite well. The best extra that you should add is building a small plattform 20 blocks lower than your chest. Waited 5 minutes and lots of mobs spawned in. To build the farm over the ocean is recommended.

I added a second layer to it, and it worked pretty well, also IDK if it works for others.👍

PRO TIPS GUYS : I spent 3 hours building these in creative and I'll say this, they work 100% but, you absolutely need to build in the ocean, make sure there's no land right next to your mob grinder, and I personally build mine higher then needed so it works, if your on bedrock use torches instead of slabs, make sure the distance between where you stand and where mobs spawn is 24 blocks to get best rates, build a couple different "safe zones " so creepers won't bug and blow up, also add the carpet because spiders will freeze your mob farm . Good luck !
