UPDATE - The material list didn't include these items that you need, since for whatever reason I only calculated the material list for the actual farm itself and not for the preparation step.
(thanks to @brando_14 and @xetroph3947 for pointing that out ♥)

Cobblestone - 32
Sand - 130
Fence gates - 2
Carpet - 36 (JAVA ONLY)
Torches - 12

making a lavacast that you turn into an elevator is one of the biggest brain things that I haven't seen almost any other farm designer recommend

4:56 This is the first mob farm I’ve made. I didn’t add the carpet because I needed string from the spiders. They gum up the works a bit but it still works very well! (JAVA)

after reading the bedrock player comments i thought it wouldn’t work but i was shocked that it did. it’s a little slow but it’s something, thank you!!

For all my bedrock people. You have to plant the kelp on soul sand first, go all the way up, break it at the bottom, then switch the soul soil with soul sand and you should be good 👍🏽

Bro this tutorial is actually insane. Great editing as well. Iʻm gonna try this farm out later this week lol

I accidentally lost 28 levels trying to build this but I got them back in like 10 minutes after building it, 10/10 would recommend

If you're having trouble with mobs not spawning, make sure you're Simulation Distance is set to 4. This helped me out as it was set to 10 before!

surprisingly good mob spawner, i thought most of the comments were botted but i guess not, very efficient and can give you alot of levels for mending, aswell as stuff for tnt and trading with clerics. though i do recommend adding ALL of the blocks rather then just the building blocks for the actual farm, and adding a rail so you dont fall off by accident. also light up the surrounding area for extra gains and turn down ur sim distance

Works super well! Built it out in some deep ocean and got 25 levels in like 10 minutes, really impressive stuff! Plus was crazy easy to build even in survival! Thank you!

I've built many types of mob farms over the years, here's some tips.
Loot not going in chests put 2 double chests under 4 hoppers.
Mobs dying on impact- drop is too high, just move the base up a level at a time until they don't die.
If your base is inland just build the farm from ground level no need to go up so high.
Cobblestone works fine, I've built these out of dirt for fun, all works the same.
The slabs on top are to stop mobs spawning on top, you can just use torches instead, there is no light leaking in.
I'm on bedrock btw.
Your welcome.

I'm on java 1.21.4 and the slabs for the roof leaked light into the farm so I suggest just doing the block and slab like video showed at 5:25

in Java 1.21.4 you have to make the roof from full blocks cause the light but works perfectly

its a neat tutorial, and now i have an xp farm! but i wish you would of added the cobblestone, sand, fence gates and carpets in the list of materials from the beginning so I didn't have to go back and forth to my base and up and down this monstrosity. maybe something for new viewers. thanks

Works in Java 1.21, built it in a desert beside an ocean with an underground cavern nearby.
- I added another level below for more spawns, seems to slightly increase rates. I tried adding it on top at first, but mobs are dying from fall damage.
- I had a issue with building the bottom tower with water and lava, it stopped halfway. I just picked up and poured the lava over the remaining water and added blocks manually through the centre
- It works without carpets if you want spider spawns, but do expect some delays from time to time. I recommend building a spider farm

This worked so well. Decided to do the hoppers last after starting the farm. (The bottom section).
Creepers spawned and blew up my little stone platform

Best tutorial i've seen, made it in like 10 minutes i feel like, works wonderfully and love the editing, was aesthetic and the campfires are great afk farming!

I usually don't like when people don't talk in there tutorials but your video is so well made that you make it enjoyable and easy to follow. thanks!

I just made this farm and it works. It's probably not the fastest, but it certainly gets the job done. Make sure you turn down your simulation distance. Also, if you use the afk method, know that witches will survive because they drink potions to resist fire and heal themselves and stuff. I came back after about an hour or so and a couple witches were down there in the fire.
