Here's my story. Never had a doctor and I'm 58, I had to go to the hospital for a surgery. I weighed 253 lbs/5' 10 inches tall. They did blood work, come to find out, my A1c was 11.3. No wonder I felt like crap all the time. Any way, I went on an almost no carb diet, I started eating steak, fish, pork, chicken, eggs, and cottage cheese for my dinner for the most part every day and maybe a couple of cookies for dessert. Well, it's been 3 months as of next week, and I have lost 42 lbs. and my A1c is 4.9 now! I feel/and look so much better. Hopefully I can stop taking the Metformin soon my doctor said. P.S, I stopped drinking beer ever night after I got home from work too. I believe that is helping a whole lot as well. Good luck to everyone that has diabetes, you can control it if you really Mark.

I was diagnosed as a diabetic about a month again. I was hospitalized for one night. A dietician spent about 30 minutes educating me while I was at the hospital. You information here is so fantastic. I sat with a pen and paper and took notes on all you presented. In fact, I have watched this video 3x. Thank you!

I got tested for fbs at a wopping 276.43. 25th of May this year. As I write this it is the 4th Of June. I checked my fbs and it is at 186. This is still high I know. But given that I have been following doc's videos, I think I am on the right path. I mean given that in less than 14days. That is a 90.43points reduction in my blood sugar. This is really keeping me going.

Thank you for your excellent videos! I’m a school nurse and I love learning so I can help others. I have two diabetic students. One student only brings packaged junk food for lunch. He is on a pump and always needs his max insulin dosage of 10 units. When I called Mom, she said, “Our doctor told us he is a growing boy and not to worry.” Since I worked in geriatrics in the past, I worry about amputations and blindness down the road! I pray his pump readings and A1c will trigger a response from the doctor.

My blood sugar was almost 500! Before I found out I was diabetic. I cut out all fruit and fruit drinks. No sodas. Watched carb and sugar intake and started waking everyday. My blood sugar is under 180 now and pretty stable. I been doing intermittent fasting too. 16hr. Fast then 8hr window to eat.

thanks for the information. I am a new diabetic, with what I am told has multiple causes. I have pancreatic cancer. I've had a whipple over two years ago. Long story short, I was hospitalized due to acute keto acidosis, which is how I was diagnosed. All of which is complicated by chemo, including huge steroid doses. So, now my whife and I are getting educated.
Thanks for the info.
I found your site because I love bread and found your video about breads for diabetics.

I used to avoid eating meats and fatty meals before I was diagnosed with prediabetes. I do not avoid fat too much anymore. I am eating 2 meals a day with fasting 17-18/24 daily. I cannot stop losing weight. I never had a weight issue always normal weight. My A1C is normal again, but I struggle to maintain a weight of at least 115 lb. I think is the-intermittent fasting. I will start decreasing by a couple of days a week to add breakfast eating again and see how that works. I do not worry about LDL. It always has been 160-170 for more than 20 years. My other # and my BP are perfectly normal, with an HDL/try ratio of low risk for heart disease. Even as a prediabetic they were good. I want a normal body shape again, I am so skinny, I am afraid I will disappear. Regardless, I feel better energized.

Wow!
In all the time of having Diabetes this is the best explaining of foods
Done with patience and respect and care of who is listening I have had Food Counseling snd it was so brief and done with less care of the foods we can get, buy and make. Many are not able to communicate necessary information
Thank you for having this valued respect for the Diabetic Patient
I have an excellent Endocrinologist, the first in my years of being a Diabetic. My sugar levels are controlled and I have no blood pressure issues and my colesterol levels are good. I do not insulin anymore, only while under a family crisis and we found ways to control by resting more walking more and food control My other chronic muscles condition kept me in bed much too often
I am much healthier now then 20 years ago ?! And have slowly lost weight as intermittent fasting has helped me abundantly and my stomach acidity and my inflammation have gone down and stay away more and more ! Having to change my foods even if I was raised on the Mediterranean way of eating
Yes, food can be used as the best control to balance out our bodies
Thank you for this valuable video and the time it took to make it
