What are chia seeds?

Salvia hispanica, or the chia plant, is a species in the mint family that is native to Central America. The seeds of this herb are known as “chia seeds” and they have gained quite a bit of popularity in recent years.

What Are the Health Benefits of Chia Seeds? Chia is gluten/grain free naturally, and a single serving is reported to have:

as much calcium as a glass of milk
more Omega-3s than a serving of walnuts
as many antioxidants as blueberries.

They give you tons of energy but also won’t keep you awake at night and are supposed to be great for weight loss. Because they can absorb many times their

size/weight in liquid, they are great for avoiding dehydration during exercise or exposure to heat.

CINNAMON RAISINS CHIA PUDDING RECIPE: 320 calories (1 servings)

Ingredients

1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or your favorite milk)
2 tbsp. chia seeds
1 tbsp. honey
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
2 tsp. chopped raisins

PREPARATION
Combine all ingredients in a jar and stir well. Refrigerate overnight & store up to 5 days.
And top with apple slices and raisins and walnuts.
Enjoy!

CHOCOLATE CHIA PUDDING: 300 calories (1 servings)

Ingredients

1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or your favorite milk)
2 tbsp. chia seeds
1 tbsp. honey
1 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
dash of cinnamon

PREPARATION
Combine all ingredients in a jar and stir well. Refrigerate overnight & store up to 5 days.
And top with almond slices and garanola.

Ingredients

1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or your favorite milk)
2 tbsp. chia seeds
1 tbsp. honey
1 tsp. green matcha powder
2 tsp. shredded coconut

PREPARATION
Combine all ingredients in a jar and stir well. Refrigerate overnight & store up to 5 days.
And top with shredded coconut and almonds.
Enjoy!

BANANA CHIA PUDDING: 340 calories (1 servings)

Ingredients

1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or your favorite milk)
2 tbsp. chia seeds
1 tbsp. honey
1 tsp Vanilla extract
2 tbsp. chopped banana

PREPARATION
Combine all ingredients in a jar and stir well. Refrigerate overnight & store up to 5 days.
And top with with chopped banana and peanut butter.
Enjoy!

Want to share a recipe with you
I dry roast oats
Then in a mixer I blend coffee, milk, vanilla protein powder, honey and the oats
Finally when I pour it out in the glass I mix it with chia seeds. Some times flax seeds and grated almonds / walnuts
