This would have been really good years ago when I started my Linux journey. The websites that rate Linux Distros are so out of touch it is laughable. I think from now on instead of recommending a distro I will let the user decide for themselves. That way they will take ownership in their decision and distro which would give a much higher probability that they actually stay and become a full time Linux user. Thanks for making me aware of this!

I got arch, gentoo and void as my top 3 and I use arch which was number 1 so it matched me pretty well.

My top three choices were openSUSE, Devuan and Linux Mint.
I already use Linux Mint so it pinned me down fairly well.

played around with this site and kept getting either debian or arch depending on if I go for fast updates. What the site can't guess is that I prefer Kubuntu over Debian for ease of use, but otherwise seems good. I also got Mint when roleplaying a newbie :)

I think they should only show only the top 3 distros then add a button that says "more recommendations". i have had friends use this tool and just give up because the list was so long. I think just showing 3 options to start would be best for average people.

Just went through it, for some reason I got Devuan instead of Debian even though I didn't say to avoid systemd, it went Devuan, Void, Debian. Other than that, the results are pretty decent.

now this is a great subject. for some the fun is experimenting for others all they want is a solution and a reliable machine. i want both but if your introducing someone to linux you want to make some of those choices for them.
this is a solution for those who dont have someone to advise them.
