Ned Stark Meets Gendry [HD]

Lord Eddard Stark finds Robert's bastard son, Gendry.

I like how Ned smiles when Gendry says it's not for sale. He was probably thinking, "Hmph, well for starters he acts like Robert." Then gives him that last look and 100% confirms it.

Ned looks like he's seen a young Robert again.  He wants to do what's right for Gendry, but he also wants to protect him.  The truth could get him killed.

I love how Gendry's master inadvertently saved his life by kicking him out.

You can see Neds face go into a kind of shock and awe he doesn’t see Gendry anymore
He sees Robert in his prime
Young faced
Broad shouldered
Ready to take on the world
And then you instantly see the fear for him come across his face as well as to what this could

Good to see Ned greeting his future son-in-law with such respect

7 years and only now have I realized that the reason Ned looks like he just cracked the case when Gendry tells him his mother had blonde hair is because it means that, as Jon Arryn put it, "the seed is strong", and, like Robert, and unlike his mother, Gendry has the Baratheon black hair. This makes Ned realize that Cersei's children are almost certainly not Robert's. Of course, he didn't need to see Gendry to be sure of that, but it's the confirmation that gets him thinking seriously about it.

Weirdest part of this scene is how Gendry totally hears Ned's wield a sword comment and doesn't immediately go "Uh I'd quite like to do that now actually."

He is probably the last baratheon who may come back to power given the chance and the right backing of allies. He is a real son of Robert.
