In 1937 english wildlife photographer Eric Hosking lost an eye when a tawny owl attacked him in his garden. As far as I know the tawny owl is a european species. The ones in the video look a lot like them. I dont know much about owl species in the u.s. though. Some birds of prey especially tawny owls can be agressive when they have chicks. They know the weak spot of a potential predator wich are the eyes. Tawny owls are known for that behavior unlike long-eared owls for example, they are pretty chill, even with chicks.

For everyone to know, they were in the tree right out of my front yard, we started mimicking their calls and filming them, obviously they did not take kindly to it, just glad the owl wasnt hurt

A barred owl did this to me too! And they were a pair in my situation too one was much bigger the smaller one swooped at me aggressively it really caught me off guard I also got my encounter on film lol
