I've never been able to reconcile the Christian concept of eternal damnation for a few decades of mischief. It's always seemed a bit extreme and devoid of love. Seems more like a device to control the faithful. Yep.

I don't agree that the world would not exist unless human consciousness is perceiving it, otherwise how did the world exist without humans for millions of years as it was forming?

No need to invite religious people, be they professors, academics.etc. No academic at all in terms of real thing, truth is concerned. Science is the only yardstick. Experience is second, they are at least evidence. Theology, religious faith, fables, mythology etc have no value when it comes to truth or true knowledge
