The sinigang soup dish caught my attention because it’s almost similar with the Malaysian sour soup named “singgang”. It originates from the East Coast of the Peninsular Malaysia. The differences are that we use dried garcinia slices to sour the soup & we put some crushed turmeric to make it a bit yellow. The protein used are mostly mackerel or sardine, beef and squid. We’re Southeast Asians for sure we have a lot of food in common

I was so lucky to try many of these dishes. And I really loved helping make the pancet and lumpia. It was a every other weekend thing where all the ladies helped out.

This was my friend’s family who opened their home and their hearts to me. I will always love them LILY MAE, my friend’s mom was like a mother to me. She passed back in 2014 when my son was months old. She didn’t get to meet any of my kids and I miss her so much. I want to get a tattoo of a a couple of lilies, including a peace lily plant because I LOVE plants and flowers and so did she.
RIP LILY MAE ❤

I’m not Filipino but I can make every dish mentioned here. I eat them all the time. We have a huge Filipino community where I live.

As a mexican I'm surprised how similar some of our dishes are, probably thanks to the colonization.

I’ve eaten 3 so far! I wasn’t the biggest fan of the bile in the soup but I’m glad I got to try it out!
Your videos have really inspired me to search out and try more Filipino food and I’m so thankful for that! Learning more about your culture through their dishes has been so neat! Thanks for sharing!

I don’t think I’ve tried any of them, but I really want to try ALL of them now lol. The first one and the crispy kare kare are ones I’d especially like to try. I gotta add all these to my “Foods to Try” list 😌

I tried them all, since I'm from The Philippines. My most favorite of the 8 is the Lechon kawali most especially with the Mang Tomas sarsa. My least fave is the Papaitan because I'm not fond of anything bitter.
